8/5/22 ***** plus delivery fee of **** They were suppose to supply me with a working lawn mower as advertised on the for sale sign. When the lawn mower got delivered it worked for about 10 mins and shut down on us. We called the shop to let them know and they picked it up on the 19th of august. The mechanic called us on Thursday or Friday of 22 or 23rd of sept and told us that the engine was no good and needed to be replaced. he then told us it was our ;loss and that we took a chance on buying a used lawn mower.. We were told from the 2 women that work there that it runs great and has been cleaned and had an oil change . they said it worked and had no problems at all when i mentioned this to him he said that he didnt check the inside of the engine so its not his fault it was no good. and the person they were selling it for upgraded to a better lawn mower.. I would of not took my whole social security check and bought this lawn mower if i knew there was a chance that it didnt work.. my family of 4 depends on my check each month to pay bills i was looking at this as an investment where as we get fines if the grass is not cut. We clearly asked them multiple times if it worked and they assured us that it ran great and nothing was wrong with it. Thats why we had them deliver it to us. ***** dollars is a huge loss to us.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/05) */ WE ALLOWED ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS TO SIT HIS MOWER OUTSIDE OF OUR BUSINESS FOR SALE. IT WAS CLEARLY MARKED FOR SALE BY OWNER "AS IS" NO WARRANTY. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE BY ******* *****. WE WERE ASKED BY **** *****(******* ***** BOYFRIEND) TO CALL THE OWNER WITH AN OFFER OF A LOWER PRICE WHICH HE ACCEPTED. THEY ASKED US TO DELIVER THE MOWER AND WE DID FOR OUR NORMAL DELIVERY FEE. THE MOWER WAS DELIVERD ON AUGUST 5TH. ON AUGUST 26 WE RECEIVED A CALL TO PICK UP THE MOWER DUE TO MOWER LEAKING OIL, UPON EXAMINATION BY OUR TECHNICIAN THE ENGINE BLOCK HAD A HOLE IN THE SIDE OF IT AND THE INTERNAL CONNECTING ROD WAS BROKEN. WE ADVISED **** ******* OF THE ISSUE. ******* ***** THEN CALLED THREATENING TO SUE US BECAUSE WE TOLD HER IT WAS A GOOD MOWER. WE ADVISED HER THAT WE COULD NOT SEE INSIDE THE ENGINE TO PREDICT THAT A CONNECTING ROD WOULD BREAK AND THAT WE DID NOT RETAIN ANY OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE.THE MONEY WAS GIVEN TO GENTLEMAN THAT WAS SELLING IT. WE HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE GENTLEMAN THAT SOLD THEM THE MOWER BUT AS OF TODAY WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/10/05) */ Business supplied email: ***@****** ***** Use this address for any contact with the ***** ******** ****** Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/10/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The sign only on the mower only said for sale runs great. I honestly dont know why a business is lying about this .. i would of not bought a mower for **** As is that would be a dumb chance to take. **** Is not easy to get.
