I recently had tint installed on my vehicle. The first attempt was unsatisfactory. They offered to redo the job after saying that it would not be without "blemishes", but advised against redoing the rear windshield, and when I wanted it done again I was instructed that I would have to sign a release absolving them of responsibility if anything went wrong. As it wouldn't have needed to be done a second time had it been proficient the first time; I found this unacceptable. I have seen many tint jobs on other vehicles around with no issues like this. The explanation was that since there's particles in the air it would never be blemish free. The other issue I had was the tint was not the darkness I was requesting. I wanted as close to 20% as possible without going under. Once the job was done I had it tested elsewhere and was metered at 30%. Once I brought this to their attention I was told this was due to "crappy tester" even though I had picture evidence of the device read out and evidence that it was testing correctly with the test strips that come with the tester. They brought out their tester and got slightly lower but no proof it was testing properly in the first place. I was then told that is the lowest available in that brand, and the only other option would be exceedingly more expensive. All in all I am still unsatisfied with the job. As it's the second job I've had done by this company with the first being a remote start system that went flawlessly by a different location; I hate that I've had this experience with the main location.
