    We built our home 7 years ago. After 2-3 years, there started to be some visible mold spores, and it began to spread underneath. Fast forward to 2023 and it had gotten worse. I had Tim come over to look at it with me a couple months ago and he drew a detailed plan to treat the mold, clean out the crawlspace (including raking out the dirt and getting all rocks and lumps out), seal the crawlspace, and install a very good dehumidifier. The finished product is beautiful and it has made going under my house easy. He even put a little step inside the crawlspace door to make it easier to crawl in! He gave me a humidity and temperature monitor which is connected to the dehumidifier for me to keep watch of, and told me to contact him if I have any questions. It has truly been a remarkable experience. I feel so much better about the air that my whole family is breathing every day! I would absolutely recommend Tim S****** and Healthy Home Environment to anyone with a home. If it’s not bad yet, go ahead and get it taken care of!

    Our home is 20 years old, and we were starting to get mold growth under the house. I had bought a hygrometer and found that the humidity in my vented crawl space was sometimes in the 90% range! Fortunately, we didn't have any mold problems indoors, and I wanted to make sure to prevent that from happening in the future. I got multiple quotes from contractors, but none of the work those other contractors had described to me would have met the NC Crawl Space Code Requirements. I had gotten somewhat discouraged by this, but one day I just happened to see on NextDoor.com that the spouse of a former Alamance County Home Inspector recommended Mr. Tim S****** very highly for crawl space work. I did some research and found that he was one of the authors of a 2005 research report by Advanced Energy, "Closed Crawl Spaces: An Introduction Guide to Design, Construction and Performance (for the Southeast)." I was very impressed with the research, so I requested a quote from Tim. He spent a lot of time with me, answering my questions very thoroughly, and his proposal was detailed and fair. His price was a little bit higher than the low-end of the other quotes I had received, but I knew his work would be high quality and would meet all of the aspects of the NC Building Code. A friend told me that a few years ago Tim had fixed my friend's moisture problem after several other contractors have failed, so that recommendation was icing on the cake. I hired Tim and am so glad I did. I've since had several contractors go under my house, and several people have told me they have never seen such good crawl space work. What's more, my hygrometer readings are well within the EPA recommendations, so I no longer worry about humidity in or under my home. I feel like the work is a fantastic investment, and I would highly recommend Tim to anyone else considering having work done in their home. I plan to hire Tim in the future for other projects, as well. He is excellent!
