We used Affordable Plumbing for a sewer line problem. The owner of Affordable advised since it only is a problem about every 2 years, and they can unclog the line we decided to handle it that way. We had not had an issue for over 2 years until Christmas week of 2022. After several reschedules, the owner insisted that they come on 12/23/2022. The plumber proceeded to run their "snake" equipment through the sewer line and clear it. The plumber ran the snake through the first time, and then saw a lot of water, so he pulled the equipment out, and got a tool to clear out the water. It was extremely cold. He advised my husband to come inside. The next thing we heard was a loud noise and we ran towards the bathroom and saw that the "snake" equipment was coming up through the side of our Kohler toilet, and had broken the toilet, and was headed toward the hallway. My husband ran outside to tell the plumber to stop the equipment. It had only damaged the toilet and not our ceramic tile. The plumber then came in and said "this happens and he knew his boss was going to be mad at him" but he would take the model and go and get us a replacement and install it. We agreed. When the plumber came back it was a different story. The owner got on the phone with my husband and advised this was not his company's fault, but that our toilet had been installed wrong and caused their equipment to come up through the toilet. He advised he had a replacement, but if we wanted a Kohler we would have to pay for it and the labor. We were furious, as this was not an equal replacement. The billing for the repair was $100 more than the previous time. We sent a letter to the owner explaining we would no longer use his service, would not refer him, and would send a review of what he had done, and we received no response. We are having it replaced at a cost of $400-800. We hope you will check this company out before using them so this will not happen ever again. Such a bad and costly holiday experience.
