    On June 7, 2016, we had our gas hot water heather replaced by 2 installers from Bare Tech. 3 weeks later, on June 27, a tech came back to review the work done and stated they didn’t cap off the vent properly AS WELL AS the water pipe at the top wasn’t connected properly. There are notes on their 2nd invoice that state “looked at heater while here, call 2-10 (our former home warranty co who we no longer use) for separate service call”. It also stated, “Need estimate to relocate heater”. Bare Tech NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON THIS. BOTTOM LINE is that an “L-joint” connector pipe over the top of the heater has been leaking the entire time to the point where the top, far back and side, and bottom of the hot water heater have rusted out. We never knew this was happening b/c the unit is not in a location that promotes easy access or lets us easily get behind it, so from the front, we presumed nothing was wrong. Cut to a week ago, our hot water was no longer working, and Bare Tech tech came out and looked, took a few photos and stated we needed to replace the gas control valve. The owner of the company, Chris, stated that State Water Heater Co recommended we should replace the entire unit. I’m not sure I believe that because State knows nothing about it’s location or what it looks like. No one at Bare Tech has responded or returned a call since last Friday. In the meantime, I’ve called and/or messaged Bare Tech several times asking for quotes to repair as well as share the pictures that were taken; and still no followup response. Bare Tech screwed up the installation 6 years ago, never bothered to return to make it right back then, and now, while we’d hoped to use them again, we’re reaching out to other companies due to overall lousy service. Do not trust this company; they cannot be counted on at all.
