I ended my lease with the Avenues on Holcomb Bridge on June 21, 2021. I was told that I would receive my security deposit back. I called and they explained that they would use the security deposit to pay my remainder water and sewer (since it’s billed a month behind) and I would receive a check 2 weeks later of the remaining balance. I asked for a confirmation that it had been paid ON TIME and they said they couldn’t do it. It has now been over a month and I have not only called the leasing office but also Hawthorne Property Management and no one has gotten back to me. The amount of the water and sewer did not equate to my security deposit. I’m looking for not only confirmation that my last months water and sewer was paid ON TIME, but the check they were suppose to send with the remaining amount. They already have the forwarding address.Business response

Following completion of the move-out inspection, it was discovered that damages were present in the apartment. The fees associated with this along with the final utility bills resulted in the deposit being applied. A balance remained after this that went uncollected and eventually written off by the community.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I should not have any May charges. I am up to date on my rent and utilities. I have never missed a payment in the 5 years I’ve been in that apartment. The property manager and traveling property manager, Sarah I believe, let me know I would ONLY be paying water and sewage for the partial month of June, since my lease was up on the 21st.$28.61 for water$21.47 for sewerBusiness response

The Final Account Statement is correct. She had 60 days of arrears billing that was applied to the ledger.
