I had two pallets of rocks to be shipped to ************ NY from ****** Tx. I listed with Uship.com. On 4/13/24 Optimized Freight Solutions (the broker) bid $1,550 plus a $100 service charge and I accepted. The two pallets of rock were picked up by AAZ Trucking LLC ON 4/16/24. The broker hired the trucking company. I paid a $410 deposit to Uship and the remainder, $1,240 was due upon delivery to the broker. The driver arrived at the drop off location on 4/20/24. The driver demanded payment of $2,300 to drop the rocks. The driver produced a contract from the broker to him for that amount. I was already told I dont pay the driver by ***** and the broker. I had contacted the broker on 4/19/24 and made arrangements to pay them on 4/20/24. They assured me by email they were open on Saturday to accept my payment. The driver refused to drop the stones and drove off with them. An hour after the broker hired driver left the broker called me. They sent me an email telling me to pay the driver the $2,300 and they would reimburse me on Monday 4/22/24. It was too late. The driver refused to return and said he was taking my rocks to ****. The broker refuses to respond to my emails and phone calls. Results are the driver stole my rocks with assistance from the broker. The broker did email and text me prior to Saturday morning saying their hired driver was an idiot and a****** The value of the rocks is $807.87. I paid a forklift an additional $100 to load the rocks. My deposit was $410. The broker emailed me that they were voiding our contract because they said I made a verbal contract with the driver. That is not true. I never made a verbal contract with the driver. My written contract was with the broker. I had a contract with the broker for $1,550? I would ask the broker to send a truck to pick up my rocks and deliver them properly and Ill pay the remaining $1,240 or refund me the amount of my loss, $1,317.87.
