It's heartbreaking to hear what *** has turned into. I worked there as a tech ********* and while ER fees were high, the level of care was top notch. And animals were not turned away for lack of funds. We did what we could with donated meds and the doctors donated their services. I believe the company was sold to a private equity firm a few years after I left, and very quickly the quality tanked.

What a disappointment on so many levels. We went to this ******** with information from our vet about what was wrong with our cat. Carolina Veterinary Specialists came up with a different diagnosis, completely ignoring the most obvious issue our cat was facing (which turned out to be the root of the problem). When it was time for discharge, they were disorganized, the tech could not answer the most basic of questions and they could not locate the medical records we left with them upon arrival. The cost of their substandard care was over $1200. Two days later, when our cat was in fact WORSE, we contacted Carolina Veterinary for guidance. Conveniently they told us they could not see him and sent us to ******* with assurance that they would call ahead and inform them of our impending arrival. We called back to reconfirm that they had called, which they confirmed they had. Because we were nervous about their business practice/follow through, we called ******* who had never heard from them. The staff at the ************** called ********** on our behalf. When confronted with this information, the Greensboro staff rudely misrepresented their actions. To make matters worse, the original diagnosis from our vet that was taken to ********** was confirmed by the Winston ******** meaning that not only had we paid over $1200 for care that served no purpose, our cat suffered needlessly for 48 additional hours. We are not aware of any governing bodies for vet practices or a pet owners bill of rights but we will be educating ourselves and taking appropriate action.

I am so sorry that this is the only place in ******* for after regular business hour care. This facility takes such advantage of people with sick pets, and I think its really a shame. It was going to be $2500 to admit our cat overnight for IV fluids, some bloodwork, and a urinalysis. I think thats outrageous. Instead, we had them give our cat some subQ fluids and will drop him off at our regular vet for an appropriate work up in the morning.

Horrific. They just want thousands of dollars or put your pet down. They won't discuss alternate treatments just give us 10k or we euthanize your pet. Rude, hostile, uncompassionate monsters. They quoted us 7-10k for a ******* ***** drain. Took our pet to their other location in ********** where they did it for 1200.

All they care about is profit. No longer in the business of providing passionate care to pets or empathy to the pet parents.

0-star all around!!! My dog hurt her leg just before a weekend and I knew she tore something and needed pain relief. My Regular vet could only squeeze her in by me leaving her all day, but I wanted to be present and did not want to scare her by locking her up all day. Took her to CVS on a Friday. They refused to let me see Dr with my pet. I was furious and told them so. Since I was there and it was the weekend coming and my pet needed pain relief I stayed. The Dr wrote in her notes that my dog only had arthritis (turns out she did have a torn ligament) and that she had cataracts. My vet has said many times and again after this that she does NOT have cataracts!!!! I'm not sure this Dr even looked at her. I will NEVER go back here even if I have to drive an hour to see someone else!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Sad story. We called this vet after our dog was attacked by another dog in our yard. We were told in the phone that if our dog was actively bleeding they would take him. Upon arrival we were Rudely turned away. We were forced to drive even farther to be seen by another facility. Unfortunately we had to put him down due to injuries. Unfortunately a sad situation all around. I’m very disappointed that a pet care facility would turn us away after saying they would see us. I am also disappointed in the lack of compassion for our dog coming from a vet hospital.

DO NOT go here! Money is #1 and customer care is nonexistent! We should have known better after an ER visit when my husband sat in the parking lot for 4 hours and couldn’t get an update on her. Finally, when he learned she was still in a waiting area, he went inside and had to demand they return her back to him. He took her to another ER Veterinary Hospital where the vet and staff kept us updated. Our WORST mistake was to take our dog back for a planned cataract surgery. She became very sick and died 5 months later. We spent the $$ on tests before her surgery to make sure she had no issues. The internal vet cleared her for surgery and she was a healthy 9lb dog. Her cataract surgery was not successful, although Dr L***** declared it was after coming out of surgery. She ended up blind in one eye with glaucoma. The night of the day of her surgery, we had to take her to the CVS ER since one eye had crusted over. We were scolded the next day during the phone eye appointment for not recognizing this was glaucoma. We didn’t see this as a good way of getting started with her aftercare. 2 months after surgery she developed a cough. After a series of tests it was determined she had a bullae in her lung, which never showed up on any of the many tests done prior to surgery. Dr O**** was very condescending after I asked him to explain a bit more about this condition in which I had no knowledge. I was trying to wrap my head around what he was telling me. First thing out of his mouth was to suggest removing a lung. He had already lined up a vet for surgery. Our dog’s health was declining and we felt she wouldn’t make it through this intensive surgery. He had to know that. $$$ We opted for cough medication. Asking how this was not seen prior to surgery and what was the cause, we were told it was either parasites, trauma, or it was already there. It wasn’t seen through all of their many tests, she didn’t have parasites, so that leaves trauma…anesthesia, our expressed biggest concern.
