Since moving in on 05/31/2024, my mother and I have endured uninhabitable conditions in our apartment. Despite assurances from the property manager that everything was in working order, we discovered a severe ***** infestation and a broken A/C and heating unit that remains unrepaired and unreplaceable. We received no walkthrough before moving in, and from the very beginning, the unit has been unlivable. Pest control has only partially addressed the ***** problem, and roaches are still present. Now, with the weather turning colder, we are without heat, adding to the long list of unresolved issues.Over the past six months, we have made repeated complaints, but property management has not responded, seemingly ignoring our requests. It appears they believe that since weve withheld rent due to the conditions, they are not obligated to address our concerns. However, we cannot justify paying for a unit that remains uninhabitable, and it is not fair to expect us to do so. Recently, I was even taken to court for nonpayment, yet property management failed to appear at the hearing.I am now formally requesting a refund of $2,631.25, representing rent paid for an unlivable unit. If there is no intention to resolve these issues, we will gladly vacate the property. We ask that this matter be resolved promptly to prevent any further negative impact on our credit or additional court actions. For our protection, we have everything saved on file documenting our experiences.

***** Infestation:We moved into this unit in June 2024, unaware that it was already infested with roaches.Despite multiple emails to management, the issue persists. Two exterminators have visited our unit, but the problem remains, with roaches, particularly baby roaches, still present.Management recently left flyers stating that pest control would start on August 7, 2024, which is two months after our initial complaint. We have been paying for pest control services, yet effective treatment did not commence until after our complaints.Unresolved Maintenance Issues:When we moved in, we were supposed to occupy Unit 30, but it was not ready. Instead, we were placed in Unit 10, which was also unprepared. The air conditioning in Unit 10 is either unfixed or unfixable.Faucets in the bathroom remain unfinished. The water pressure in the downstairs bathroom is extremely low.Lack of Disclosure:We were not informed about the ***** infestation before moving in.There was no opportunity for a walkthrough due to the rush caused by Unit 30's unavailability. I am writing to formally complain about the ongoing issues in our apartment at Arlington Village Townhomes, located at ******************************************************. We have been facing a persistent ***** infestation and several unresolved maintenance problems since moving into the unit, and despite continuous communication with the management, these issues remain unresolved. May 31, 2024:$150 paid by my daughter.June 18, 2024:$500 paid by *******************.$29.50 paid by my daughter.June 24, 2024:$500 paid by my daughter.$23.00 paid by my daughter.July 3, 2024:$1003.25 paid by *******************.These unfixed faucet repairs was done before moved in, the a/c was told could not be repaired. This unit was not ready but they still let us move in without telling us about all these issues and repairs. The property manager at the time have been terminated as well as the maintenance crew.
