On or about 9/19/2024, i purchased a used engine from them. They stated it only had ****** miles on it. I paid $1627.94 to them for the engine. I took it to my ******** for installation and he said the engine was locked. I sought a 2nd opinion and the second ******** said the same thing, that the engine was locked and he could not install something that will not work. I took the engine back to the business but they will not refund me my money. At this point, I do not trust them with a replacement.** Complaint Dictated to BBB **

I purchased an engine for $1950 plus tax and a $100 delivery fee on April 11, 2024, for a total amount of $2198.38. I had to cancel the order on April 18, 2024 due to circumstances be on my control. The Engine never left their facility or was delivered to me. After calling them every day for a week to get a credit for what I have paid, they issued me a credit of $1648.38 stating that they charged me a 25% restocking fee. They also stated that on the back of their receipt in their terms and conditions that it said no returns or refunds, and that there was a 25% restocking fee. The receipt that they emailed to me was only one page, there was no option to read terms or conditions. There was no back of the receipt. They charged me 25% of the total ticket including the tax and delivery fee. The amount of the part I ordered was $1950.00, 25% of that is $487.50. I tried to resolve this with The manager whose name is *****, and asked them to treat me fairly, but they refused and hung up on me twice.I was never informed in writing, or verbally about a restocking fee.

I am rejecting this response because: I have not heard anything after I submitted my view on the issue.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am responding to the claim the signature is forged and the date is wrong. We did not receive a phone call until the 22 I placed a picture of our phone log and the manager stated that my father-in-law signed the invoice when he was never offered the opportunity to sign anything nor was he given a copy of the receipt, he asked and was told that ****** had the receipt. We do not know who this *** lady is nor have we ever communicated with her. The signature was forged it looks the same as ***'s signature as well. We did not sign anything, so we did not come inside the gate because when I talked to the gentleman who said he was the manager, I felt threatened. After I told them that I was going to talk to my bank about reversing the change because I felt like we were knowingly given a bad motor I would like to get my money back and not a store credit because no one ever contacted us after talking to the mechanic who was told they would contact us. we only had 30 days to do anything and after receiving the motor 12 days after the purchase we needed a guarantee that we could get what we needed. this matter still has not been resolved a month after it all began. I am distraught that it had to come to all of this we need our car fixed it is still at the shop with no motor and we need our vehicle they have lied to us from the start and we would like a resolution and our car fixed they have told our bank that we did not return the item which is a lie. I feel like they're trying to intimidate me and that is unacceptable.

Bought a transmission from a 95 f150 4x4 that L and L claimed to tested good on 2/16/2023. Went to install the transmission and found that the drain pan was damaged and filter was absent from the pan. I emailed the business and they told me "Hard to tell from pic, looks maybe dented some? Swap your pan from your core, youll be good to go." Based on this we swapped out the damaged part with the good pan and install the transmission with a new front seal, rear gasket, filter and fluid as required by L and L to maintain the warrenty. After installing the transmission we found that it only had reverse. All forward gears are non functional. The company quit responding via email qhen we told them this even though they told us "if any issues come up let us know". I called Monday 2/20/2023 and they empisized that it was tested good and should have an issue. They said they would pull another transmission and call us. They refused to cover labor and are only going to comp the front and rear seals. They said to refuse the fluid and gasket. No mention or fuel comp was made either even though it will be a total of over 500 miles of wasted trips and 6 hours labor due to the faulty transmission. The only reason we bought the transmission is they made the claim that it was tested good.

We received 3 bad engines in a row from L&L. First one purchase on ********************************** for $2,000 had ******* miles on it. We installed the engine and ended up having problems. We put over $4,000 into the engine trying to fix it, but nothing corrected the problem. Turned out the engine had a mechanical problem. L&L agreed to send a replacement. The driver showed up with the replacement and it the cylinder head was welded from top to bottom. They told us not to worry about it and the engine should be fine. There is no way we were going to sell one of our customers a part like that. They sent us another engine. After installing the third engine that we finally received around May 23 workorder # ******, there was still a problem and found it had a cracked cylinder head. They told us if we returned both that they would issue a refund of $2,000. They've had the engines back for almost a month now and no credit. We've called repeatedly and keep being told that we have to talk to ******* the manager. However, we are always told that he is away from his desk, out of the office, or helping out with a new building that they are building. Our company is well over $10,000 in the hole with all the labor and parts for installation and removal of both the engines as well as our customer being without their vehicle for well over 4 months. I'm sure anyone at this company would be extremely dissatisfied if they were on the other side of this transaction. Would not recommend purchasing anything from them when they can't even return a phone call and discuss the issue and obviously don't stand behind what they tell you.

On 06/06/2022, Purchased a engine for a 2013 ***** Equinox, 2.4, from L and L, it was supposed to be a ********** Emissions NU-6. for $2668.75 cash. The employee, D***, didn't ask for the *** to get the right motor the first time, ended up with the wrong motor, he agreed to make it right, again ordered the wrong motor, and communicated with the mechanic, to attempt to get him to do something to convert it, however it could not be done for it pass ** inspections. We paid the difference, for what was supposed to be the correct motor, $872.25,and at his advice had it moved to another shop, where again the engine was not complete, or right. Again D***, talked with the mechanic, who refused to do something that was not correct for the car. I have attempted several times to get my money back, and found out today, Aug.15,2022, through the second mechanic, there was an engine in ******,**. perfect for the car.. I called, and it is there, relayed it to D***, who insisted he is going to talk to, the owner of L and L about what to do about it. We already have over $4000, involved or more, with the first shop, and towing bills. I asked for them to purchase the motor, and refund the difference to make it right, I informed D***, I had put in a call to a lawyer, and he told me, they deal with attorneys constantly. I just want it resolved about the engine for the Equinox
