I have take dry cleaning over the past 6 months and on 3 occasions I have had a sweater returned torn. The first time was a wooden ships brand cotton sweater returned with the sleeve ripped out, then two cashmere sweaters returned with holes and rips. It was not until the 3rd sweater that I finally went back and complained. I showed them the cost of the sweater. The other two o could not prove the cost so I assumed they would do nothing. When I finally went in with the third they said they thought it was moth damage. It had no damage when it was taken in and had been stored with cedar and lavender with other cashmere all of which remains undamaged. The owner called me and was very accusatory and argumentative. She told me if it was a $50 sweater they would pay but this was and expensive sweater (almost $400). They have done nothing to try to right the situation. In total I have had over $800 in sweaters ruined by this company.

******** stated she previously had clothing returned to her with damage from our business. I cannot address the clothing items because customer failed to notify us of any damage. The cashmere sweater she did bring back appeared to us to be moth damage and we offered to send it to a lab to make sure it was. Customer stated that it could not be moth damage because she had stored it with cedar and lavender. Unfortunately, according to Consumer Reports article, How to get rid of clothes moths. Cedar and other natural repellents don't do squat! Also that the larvae will **** down on some fibers while snubbing others and that the heat and solvents of dry cleaning does kill the moth eggs and larvae. I wish we had seen previous damaged cashmere and we might could have fixed the problem then. I hope this customer reads this before she loses any more expensive cashmere sweaters. It is best to have all natural fibers, especially cashmere, fur coats, alpaca blankets and wool suits professionally dry cleaned and stored in cold storage during the warmer months.
