I was sent a bill for $5600 dollars. Claiming mitigation was done on my house. When it wasn't. It was a small leak that another plumber was brought into repair because of the service of roto rooter the tech picked up the equipment he left unplugged on July 10th. Fraud is something very serious. If this needs to get legal it can ill bring in inspectors and an attorney.

My family came home the evening of 1/31/21 to find waste/sewage water in our basement. It was after 6:00PM, and Roto-Rooter showed up in a panicked ****** search. I called and they came to our house that night. They said I had a broken pipe that needed replaced and that they would also clean up the sewage water and disinfect the basement, and that they had people that would come in after and repair the damaged floor/walls. The employees were from the hickory office, **** and ********, and while **** was looking in my basement, ******** asked for my homeowners insurance policy. I stated that I would file the claim myself, however, he said that it would be easier for both of us if he filed the claim. I went against my better judgement and let him file the claim. He told me that I had great home insurance and that my policy would cover the cost of piping repair, wall restoration, replacement of damaged materials, and floor replacement. So I agreed to services. I contacted my insurance adjuster who informed me that he would meet Roto Rooter at my home, along with a 3rd party adjuster, and that cost estimates would be agreed upon for the claim. The pipe repair was around $6,300 and the wall/floor repair was around $5,200, which used all insurance money plus money out of pocket. Also, another $1,500 for sump pump replacement. In May, 2021, Roto Rooter called, stating I owed over $13,000 for water mitigation. I never got an invoice and my insurance, along with 3rd party adjuster, stated the amount is way overcharged for the services. Roto Rooter said they would talk to my insurance again. Roto-Rooter is claiming that the pipe repair, water mitigation, and rebuild is almost $25,000. Fast forward to December 2022, I received a civil summons being sued by Roto Rooter for the original $13,000 overcharge PLUS attorney fees, totaling an amount of almost $23,000, over double the cost of the entire repair in January 2021.

Had sewage coming up in drains in basement. Hired Roto Rooter3/25/2022. They allegedly ran camera ,verified blockage and cleared line. Discovered large belly under concrete slab, said there were breaks in line and line needed replaced. Paid ****** for video camera inspection and clear blockage. My insurance company sent American Leak Detection to verify exact cause of blockage They came on 4/5/2022 . Their report stated the line was still completely full with water and debris, couldn't confirm belly . continues to be blockage, did not appear to have cleaned nor inspected with camera.Having to get another plumber to clear drains. Will not use Roto rooter again!
