My boyfriend and I decided to move into together as my job was moving to a place closer to him and we found a townhome that we loved. I attempted to get in touch with the property management team as it was a little tough as theres only two of them in the office from my understanding. We got a hold of Mrs. ******* and asked our necessary questions about the requirements and the possible need of a guarantor. We were told to apply and that we would figure things out from there and so we did. My boyfriend and I combined make the 4 times the rent a month required of us to live ********. ******* decided to take my other personal matters that existed before my boyfriend into consideration, which wouldnt affect us living there and made them an issue. I offered a line of communication for better understanding which he refused and was convinced that we werent capable to afford the rent despite proof that we could. I felt attacked and possibly discriminated against as if Mr. ******* was shocked that we could afford the rent this property. I believe was racially driven and by association classist. So much so that he requested proof of funds and proof of savings that No one in my renters history has ever required of me. And I received professional opinions from my leasing office as well as my realtor and they both agree that Mr. ******* was out of line.
