This is a spam business. Their entire business model is spam. They email me about birth control offers when I am not a woman in any sense of the word. I obviously did not sign up for birth control emails. Only a shady company that cant make money through legitimate means sends creepy emails without prior authorization. And before they give some non-sense excuse about 3rd party data, just know, not a single consumer on this planet appreciate being spammed without consent, no matter where you obtained the data. It is disgusting how morally indefensible these money hungry businesses operate. I pray there is a day these types of practices are outlawed. I already sent my Congress person a more detailed email about their practices, but hopefully letting public know through BBB will help as well.

We work hard to bring relevant offers to people from brands they love just when they need them most, but sometimes we miss our ***** We also value privacy highly, which is why we include an unsubscribe link in each email. We have unsubscribed the email address included with the complaint from all future emails.

This company sends ad spam. Within these ads they have placed false "unsubscribe" options. No where are you given the option to unsubscribe from their continued ads but instead are given an option to unsubscrube from recieving the one ad you are currently seeing, the most recent one. They send a different one the next time. If you click on manage preferences to try to unsubscribe or send a complaint, it pops up a security captcha over and over, indefinitely. No matter how many captchas you complete correctly, it just puts up another. They need to stop sending me spam and they need to have an F rating here on bbb for unethical practices.

We value privacy highly, and understand your frustration with the issue you encountered with reCAPTCHA. We are attempting to reproduce the issue and have logged it as a bug. In the meantime, we have unsubscribed the email address included with the complaint from all future emails.

This business has sent several spam emails on behalf of apparently fake advertisers and does not honor opt out requests.

We value privacy highly, which is why we include not just an unsubscribe link in each email, but also a link to more fully manage your personal information. While most recipients of our emails are pleased to receive an offer from a brand they love, we understand that is not always the case. We have unsubscribed the email address included with the complaint from all future emails.

I've received third party advertisement email messages from SafeOpt that are both unscrupulous and illegal. I did not sign up for messages from SafeOpt and have no desire to interact. Please remove my email address from your contact database(s) and cease and desist from any further solicitation efforts. Further solicitation will result in reporting you to your state's respective ************************

SafeOpt takes privacy seriously. We have investigated this matter and determined that we received the customers email address from a third-party data partner who had previously received the customers permission to share it for marketing purposes.

SafeOpt provides a link at the top and bottom of every email it sends to unsubscribe from emails. We also provide a  link to manage personal information, including requesting the deletion of personal information. The customer did not make any request directly to SafeOpt to unsubscribe or to remove their data before contacting the Better Business Bureau.

We have deleted all data associated with the email address and added the email address to our unsubscribe list.

On 8/13/23 I visited an e-commerce website (Pistola) after clicking a ******** ad. I did NOT provide the retailer with my email address and left the website after clicking around briefly. The next day I got an email in my inbox advertising a discount for the product that I had viewed on the e-commerce website. The email was from SafeOpt. Its clear that they got my email address from some third-party that I did not consent to sharing my info.

Thank you for the feedback on SafeOpt and the opportunity to respond with more information. Based on our internal research, it appears that we sent an email to the identified address after purchasing it from a data broker who represents to us that it has permission to share the emails addresses it sends to us. We also previously received the email directly from a website that discloses in its privacy policy that it shares email addresses it obtains for marketing purposes and gives a mechanism to opt-out.

We understand not everyone wants to receive emails from SafeOpt. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, as required by law. Going beyond those requirements, we also provide a link to a page (******************************) to manage other information preferences, including requesting the deletion of all information we have about an individual.

Our records indicate that the consumer unsubscribed using the provided link in our email and we have sent no additional emails since receiving the unsubscribe request.

Over the past year representatives from Addshoppers have repeatedly and grossly spammed multiple employees at our company, while ignoring all responses that our company is not interested in their services, and consequently have ignored further opt-out requests to remove our company from their CRM programs and email databases. Most recent note to ********** representatives stated we will contact BBB if does not stop, and that request was also ignored as employees continue to be spammed.

AddShoppers has undertaken a review of the reported incident and has identified a combination of human errors as the root cause. We have taken appropriate corrective action, including additional training for the relevant personnel. Further, we have placed all email addresses associated with this business on our do-not-contact list. We did not meet our own high standards of service here and apologize for the inconvenience caused.

We were contacted by AddShoppers (SafeOpt) on Oct 5 inviting us to participate in their advertising platform. The cost to onboard was $1000 + $100 monthly fee + 10% commission. We were promised the following after onboarding: - AddShoppers to help Runway Catalog (my company) drive more revenue with their SafeOpt program by retargeting our anonymous site visitors. - To help increase revenue and new customer acquisition by sending retargeting emails to a previously unreachable audience - people in their network of 175 million shoppers who have come to our site and shown interest, but left without entering their email address.Projected Performance ***** conversions per month Incremental revenue per month $42,400+ It's been over 1.5 months and the deliverables are no where near what was promised or sold to us. We've received 346 retargets from their 17 million subscriber base and no conversions at all. I've reached out a few time to ***************************** - VP Client Success who ensured me that I need to be patient and that after a few weeks I should see the expected. A few weeks past and there are no results. The company is not taking any responsibilities for the false advertisement. I requested a full refund but was brushed off. I'd like to get my initial payment back. What was presented/promised to us is nowhere close to the actual results. I have attached their sales presentation as well as a screenshot of our account performance. Attached are also my communication with the company. Absolute FALSE advertisement!

      Dear ******,
We regret you did not have the desired experience with our service. We aim to please all clients and believe you could have had better results with a bit more time as there is a ramp up period to achieve targeted results. Pursuant to the Statement of Work we entered with you, the $1,000 cost to onboard is not refundable, but we will not charge the $100 subscription payable for November as a courtesy to you, and you have not been charged for any conversions. We believe in professionalism and courtesy and respectfully disagree that we have engaged in any false advertising or any other form of improper conduct. We remind you of the confidentiality obligations under your agreement with us, which survive termination of your account. We hope this satisfies your concerns.  We reserve all rights, claims, and defenses in this matter, as appropriate.

After browsing a product website on sierratradingpost.com, without logging in or otherwise providing my identity to the site, I was sent an email by AddShoppers (operating as SafeOpt) with a picture of the product I had just viewed. I had not provided any information to sierratradingpost.com, and had last logged in at least six months ago or more. I can only conclude that AddShoppers was given my information as a third party by *********************** who correlated my machine ID, IP, or other personal data obtained from browsing logs against their customer database to locate my email address. AddShoppers then added my personal data to their own repository and sent me multiple unsolicited communications. The confidentiality of my identity was compromised by both ********************** (against whom I'll be filing a separate complaint) and AddShoppers by their commercial solicitation of me based on my browsing history alone. This is a tremendously disturbing business practice that must be halted immediately.
