I had east carolina automotive install a reman transmisssion in my **** **** F150 pu 10/19/2020 It came with a 3 year or ******* mile waranity on the transmission After picking the truck up I noticed a leak the next day on the ground and reported it to east carolina which they advised me to drive it a while to make sure it wasn't left over fluids from the repairs It keep leaking so i had to leave it with them to check it out and they said they couldn't find and thing after it set over night This was my only work truck so I couldn't afford to keep coming back until this week when work slowed down I left the truck with them again over night and they ended up replacing a valve cover gasket which cost me 279. 00 and repairng a leak on the side of the transmission After driving the truck home I noticed it was still leaking the next day and called the owner back which he said if it wasn't transmission fluid it wasn't his responsiblity and would not validate the waranty He had the truck three times and had to see all the fluid on the transmission case and say then it wasn't covered under warranty instead he made up a story that they had fixed a leak on the side of the transmission on this last trip but had to charge me with something to make up for his time I would like to be reimbursed for what it will cost to have the transmission leak fix at another automotive service since I like a lot of other custormers reveiws written no longer have faith in these people doing the right thing I also have documented pictures with e-mails I sent them of the leaks on the ground and bottom of the transsmissionBusiness response

We install a remanufactured transmission for this customer on 10/19/2020 the transmission does have a 3yr or ****** mile warranty whichever comes first. the customer did bring the truck back to ck for a transmission fluid leak we checked it out and found there was a plug at the rear drivers side of the trans that was leaking we replaced the seal on the plug and that stopped the trans leak the truck also had some oil leaks we told the customer about the leaks one of which we repaired that was the valve cover gaskets he was also told the engine oil plug was leaking we did not repair this leak because the oil would have to be drained and the plug gasket but the oil wasn't due to be changed at this point and it was a small leak he was made aware of this. . the customer call me today and said the trans was still leaking then after further conversation he said it was leaking at the back of the engine . I told him to bring the truck back so we could check to see if it was engine oil or trans fluid , I told him if it were trans fluid or the valve cover gaskets we replaced we would repair it but if it were something else he would be responsible for what ever that maybe he then said that the truck didn't leak until we installed the transmission . i told him again to bring it in so we could ck the leak and if it were something we repaired we would take care of it . so then he started to threaten me with filing a complaint i told him if that is what he wanted to do go ahead and we would respond to that. bottom line we have no problem standing behind all of the work we do . But we can't be held responsible for oil leaks on the engine when we replaced the transmission.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:East Carolina Auto repair service replaced the transmission and it leaked the day I got it back home. The truck never had any leaks before they serviced it. I called them back and was told to bring it back in which they had to keep it again over night and said they could not find any leaks after they wiped it off and let it set over night. I picked it up and noticed after getting home it was still leaking so this tells me it had not been driven which would cause it to leak. I sent them e-mail pictures and was told to bring it back again but was not able to miss any more work since this is my only work truck. When I did get a chance to bring it back the owner told me he had repaired a leak on the driver's side of the transmission and that should take care of it. The transmission is leaking where it bolts up to the engine and when they installed it they must have left out a gasket or not tighten up the bolts correctly. The owner is saying if its not transmission fluid its not covered but he knows the cause is coming from their improper insulation of the transmission. Also if they've had the truck three different times why did they not say then if it was or wasn't transmission fluid instead of telling me they fixed the problem.
Sincerely,

We did replace the transmission in the truck and the transmission does have a 3year or ****** mile warranty from ****** the truck was brought back with a transmission leak and it was leaking from a Oring seal at the rear of the transmission we did repair this leak at no charge it also had some oil leaks that we informed the customer about one was the valve cover gaskets that he had us replace on his last visit it was also leaking from the oil drain plug that repair was declined because the oil change wasn't due for another thousand miles so he was going to wait until the oil change was due. that at the time was the only other leak the truck had. we have inspected the truck for any other transmission leak and there is NO trans leak the truck is leaking engine oil and not transmission fluid. The truck needs to have the oil leak from the engine repaired and all the oil cleaned up. If this customer wants to take the truck somewhere else to have it checked by all means do so then they can also inform you it is a oil leak and not the transmission.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
As stated in my last statment East Carolina ************ caused the leak in my truck when installing the transmission. I sent BBB photos copies along with E-mail with dates showing the next morning after driving the truck from them to my house I had discovered the leak under my truck at the transmission where it bolts up to the engine. I BROUGHT IT RIGHT BACK TO THEM AND WAS TOLD IT SAT OVER NIGHT AND DID NOT SEE A LEAK. They never drove it while they had it to do a proper test. Like I said they had the truck more than once to check the leak and never said anything about oil on the transmission but did say they noticed the valve covers leaking and oil plug . I had them fix the valve cover leak but the oil plug barley had a drop on it which is nowhere near the leak at the transmission and engine. The next day again thinking they fixed the leak I noticed it leaking from the same spot leaving a large spot on my driveway.. I looked up their reveiws on my i-phone and noticed I'm not the only one that's had the same problems of having leaks after they worked on their vechile and them not correcting the problem. How can they have a good record with BBB if they have bad reviews. And why are they not responsible if they worked on my truck which had no leaks at all when I brought it to them and the same day I pick it up and bring it home there's somehow a large leak right where the transmission bolts up to the engine.Sincerely,
