    On December 2, 2021, I called to schedule an appointment to have my 2 dogs Bordetella shots updated so that we could board them for the Christmas holiday. On the call I was told they were going to add a heartworm test to their chart for the visit. I told them I was not interested in that test that it was unnecessary. I was told they were going to put it on the chart anyways and we would discuss it when I came to the visit. On December, 13 2021 my wife (************) ended up having to take the dogs instead of me I let her know not to let them do the heart worm test. When the vet techs came out to get the dogs they asked about the heart worm test and my wife told them " I don think they need that" indicating she did not want them to do the test. the dogs where then taken from the car inside one at a time. My wife was told to remain in the car, at this time the dogs were out of view and no opportunity to know what was happening to them was afforded, and no ability to interject on an unwanted service was available. They produced an invoice for both dogs ( see attached) which my wife payed. Upon review of the invoice when I got home I notice a $64 charge on each invoice for something I did not recognize. " 4Dx Plus Snap" was listed on both invoices at "$64.81" for a total of $129.62. After googling what it was I discovered that it was the Heart worm test they were told we did not want. The Bordetella shot that was the only authorized treatment for the dogs should only have cost a total of $42 for both dogs. This unwanted procedure increased our bill to almost $200 right before Christmas. This incident feels very practiced and intentionally predatory. After attempting to speak with Jacksonville Veterinary Hospital I was giving nothing but excuses and "I cant help you". This Business has stolen $130 from us less than 2 weeks before Christmas. I am requesting a refund on the payment card in the amount of $129.62 to resolve this issue.

    The exam room was filthy. The staff was defensive when I brought this to their attention and acted irresponsibly.

    There was a small tuft of pet fur behind the door that was missed by the room assistant during routine cleaning of the exam room between patients. This was an easily rectified situation and was cleaned up immediately upon Ms. ******** initial complaint. Ms. ****** spent nearly 30 minutes berating the office manager over this oversight and unjustly condemning the entire hospital as unprofessional and filthy. She was rude and demeaning to the room assistant and the office manager the entire visit until the manager offered to have her leave so we could redo the cleaning completely. She refused the offer and said it looked fine now and she would like to stay because her dog was happy here. The room assistant began the appointment and Ms. ****** asked for certain labwork services which were immediately started and processed. As the doctor was going to the room to begin her exam, Ms. ****** left without warning and ignored the staff who were telling her that she would have to pay her bill for what was already done if she wanted to cancel the appointment. Ms. ******** only response was that the building was filthy and she shouldn't have to pay. Ms. ****** left without paying and only returned a while later in the day after repeated phone calls and other correspondence. Ms. ****** was content with how things were when she decided to stay and then used those complaints afterwards to try to avoid paying for services duly rendered.
