This insurance company is a complete scam I have been trying to get an accident handled for 4 weeks and they wont even move it forward. One of there insurers hit my company *********** have missed out on over $20,000 of losses in income because I cant get an answer. This has been taxing on my way of lifeInitial Complaint

On July 17, 2021, one of Discovery's insured totaled my car. Discovery immediately acknowledged fault and agreed to cover both property and medical damages. The property claim took ~6 months to settle, during which time Discovery provided only limited reimbursement for transportation and regularly ignored or obfuscated details in the claim settlement process. The bigger issue has been the medical claim. It has been 500 days since the accident and I have had to pay all of my medical bills out of pocket, totaling ~$20k, which is now missing from the account I use to pay rent. Discovery has lost paperwork, lost emails, not responded to emails, and not responded to calls at different times. When I requested a new agent for my case, the request was denied without explanation. Discovery has consistently failed to account for many of my medical costs - the original offer was a mere $9k for expenses, which literally did not include all of the bills I had submitted to date. More than once, Discovery has required me to produce paperwork that I've already given them. I don't know if this is incompetence or malpractice, nor do I care. I thought we had reached a settlement, but as soon as I signed a release, Discovery reneged on the terms and has put up yet another delay to reimbursing me. I need to settle my claim, but I also need to escalate the truly horrific business practices here to a broader audience in the hope of protecting future consumers.
