I signed up for a no contract membership with this business. It was $19 a month, cancel anytime. I tried to cancel my membership for months, constantly being told that I could only cancel when a manager was present. I went back when a manager was there, the manager then looked me in the eye as he told me the membership was canceled, we were "all good" and to "have a nice day". The business then proceeded to call me for months, harassing me about "billing information", refusing to accept the answer that the membership was canceled. Today, I received a letter from a collections company in the mail for my "delinquent" account. My mom, who had her own membership here, had to change her banking information because of them, they were doing the same thing to her. I know for a fact we aren't the only people this has happened with. We need this resolved, especially for credit purposes.

    Business response

    Hello.

****** *********************** had been with us since 2021. Our month to month agreement is a not contract with a 30 day notice. He was only paying $15/month. His membership was processed for cancellation on 10/20 23 (see *** notes). With the 30 day notice, his last draft was set for 10/28/23, however it declined. (See invoices). The staff attempted to reach him as did *** in regards to the decline and past due in order to resolve. (See *** notes and Staff notes). However when he did not respond it eventually went to collections (90 days later) and that is why he received the letter form the collections company. We can work with him to resolve this in house at the club and request a waive of fees. He will still be responsible for the last month of membership dues that he did not pay and possibly a late fee.  He can reach out to me directly and I will be happy to assist him. I can be reached at ****************************************.

Please let me know if you need more clarity on anything or have further questions.

    Thank-you
