I was charged a total of ***** dollars for a service I never received. The service was for a permanent hybrid denture. I paid 8000 dollars and when trying to pay remaining balance to have service done I was told it would be ***** dollars for the procedure and that the 8000 dollars did not matter anymore. I have a ledger of money paid but not a single thing saying what the 8000 dollars was for. I paid the 8000 then never got my permanent set. I just wanted the work finished and was happy to bay the balance but now it seems I will have to pay for the procedure elsewhere so I feel they should refund the 8000 dollars I gave them for nothing.Initial Complaint

******************** Friendly Dental ***************************************************** I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction with the ortho treatment I have received from Friendly dental group. I began my Treatment back in April 20** with *******************, and without anyone notifying me ************ was moved to another location around 2021. Unfortunately, my treatment took a turn for the worst when ******************* began to see me as his patient, ******************* mistreated me as his patient. Verbally and physically. *************** Treatment plan caused my back tooth (#**) to shift upwardly and turned placing my tooth into a awkward position. Causing a significant amount of discomfort and pain on my tooth and the left side of my jaw and my left ear. Doctor ******************* shaved the same tooth down the doctor **** pulled out of line,Dr ******************* Removed the braces from my teeth September 2023.I have reached out to ******************* to address the severities of this problem multiple times. However, Im very disappointed to say that ******************* never attempted to called, text or emailed me to even have a discussion. After researching the internet, I learn that There is no way to contact anyone on the website that is in a position of authority to resolve any issues or concerns that patients might have. *** contacted multiple offices of friendly dental group, and the individuals that I spoke to about my issues to refused to give me the contact info of someone in charge to address my concerns, This behavior is very unprofessional and unacceptable expressing poor customer service and lack of integrity. I paid my hard money to Friendly Dental trusting that doctors would help me achieve my goal to having a better smile and they failed to do so. ************************* is the owner of this franchise. *********************Business Response

1/16/2024 Contacted Friendly Dental with ***************** on the phone 3 way to collect the License Number, T.I.N. Number and the *** Number of the actual treating dentist for a dental procedure that Friendly Dental provided on 01/19/2022. This was my fourth attempt to collect the insurance back because it has been rejected by Metlife several times. Every time that I contacted Metlife they would say that I had to add the required information to the claim ( which I had done) the actual problem just surfaced as I heard the Metlife Representative discuss with the representative from Friendly Dental. The information for the License Number, T.I.N. Number and the *** Number that Friendly dental provided me was not the information for Dr. ******************* and they stated they didnt know that information for **************** because the Dr. only worked one day for them.I explained to them when I had the procedure that I had Metlife but for some reason Metlife couldnt find me in the system. I was a new employee for ******* at the time and they said it may take a couple of weeks. It was Friendly Dentals recommendation to me to just get the work done and file the insurance myself. I have attempted many times since but ******* wont pay me back until I have the correct information.I dont understand how a business allows a doctor to see a patient and they dont have record of the information required. At this point Friendly Dental has proved by action this isn't their problem because they have already received payment (From Me in cash). I am disabled ant cant afford to eat this expense.Business Response

First: From my ****** Review: First I waited for 20 minuets to go back and begin my appointment (which is pretty normal so I wasnt that bothered.) Then after **rays I waited in the chair for 30+ minuets before I saw the dentist. After she arrived she let me know they would schedule my cleaning in about 2 months and this was just a checkup?!?I was very confused and questioned why I am not getting a cleaning. She said new patients get an exam and have to come back for a cleaning today. I had been there just over an hour just to get an exam? It would have ethical to know this before I spent an hour there to be told my teeth were healthy and I was going to have to come back again. No dentist I have every gone to across the country does it this way, and if they did they need to inform the patients first.Post Review and Visit: I received an outrageous bill for **rays. I have moved many times in my life and have been to many dentists. To begin, none has ever treated me with such disrespect, and now they are scamming with a bill. They billed over $257 for the **rays they completed. Again, that is ALL they did. They took an excessive amount of **rays where no other dentist would have done. After insurance covering STANDARD **rays I was left with a bill of $125. I did NOT authorize additional **rays outside of what was needed for the cleaning that they did not preform. I was not given a good faith estimate, nor did I sign for additional **rays. I will reiterate I did not get a cleaning and just had **rays taken. The other dentist that actually cleaned my teeth was kind enough to not bill insurance for my **rays because this is a known problem with friendly dental in the community. Never have I received a bill for dental exams / cleanings and at most know there may be a small copay ($25/$50) standard. Although, with my insurance 6 month routine cleaning is covered fully.Business Response

Good morning ********************,
I'm sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with our Whitehall location. Unfortunately, due to a nationwide Hygienist shortage we are unable to guarantee a cleaning for a new patient exam. I'm sorry that this wasnt told to you when you made your appointment. I have also reviewed your account statement, that you have attached to your complaint, and upon reviewing it, the x-rays listed are the standard of care that are provided by the ** Dental Board and Im sorry that you feel that they are excessive. As a professional curtesy, I have written off your remaining balance which brings your new balance to $0. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything else I can do to assist you.
Thank you.Customer Answer
