            In Spring of 2021 Lake Norman Docks quoted a price to install a new dock at my vacation home at *******************************. Included in the quote was a $1500 permit fee to comply with all requirements to get the dock approved. I provided a property survey as requested. Th dock was completed in October 2021. I was in ******* at the time it was installed I paid the invoice in full, for $18,700 which includes $1500 for a permit, which was included in my initial deposit of $4500 I am planning to sell the property. I recently reached out to *********** who issues the permits on Lake Norman, and no permit was ever requested or issued. Now I will again have to pay for a permit plus substantial penalties to try to get this dock permitted. I am unable to sell my property without a dock permit. Text messages, phone calls and emails to ******************* at Lake Norman Docks are being completely ignored. I have tried numerous times to reach ************, who I believe is the owner of Lake Norman Docks in **************.

            Save yourself the money and headache and go elsewhere, Barry Sims will leave you high and dry. We signed a contract in Feb 2022 and have been getting just excuses since. He took our initial deposit then excuses until until Feb 2023 when a work crew showed up for two days to start the work and convince us to pay the main draw for the project, and has disappeared since. Intermittently I hear promises about delays and the project getting completed but it's been sitting incomplete since then. They also didn't file permits for the project either which only I discovered in June 2023 after work had started, still haven't gotten those completed and filed. Others who have left positive reviews on google reviews in the last year saying their docks were completed must have been using my money paying to get their work done. He seems to be working down at the coast under the name "OKI Marine Construction" now, makes sense after he's screwed so many people here in the Lake Norman area.
