The carport has been installed using sub standard building practices. The customer service within the company has acknowledged sub standard building practices and claims to be working on getting them fixed but nothing has happened. They also used broken anchors when securing the frame.

      04/09/2024

Our guy in the repair department has been in contact with the customer and has sent the repair order to the scheduling department.  Our scheduling department is working on getting the customer scheduling so our installer can go back and install the one mobile home anchor that was broken.  Also they used screws instead of bolts to install the extra supports so they will change that also.  With any repair we have, we try our best to get back to the customer place as soon as possible.  Sometimes it may take longer depending on weather and location.  We keep in communication with the customer to let them know when we can come out to do the repair

We had a garage put up by tri state carports Friday April 8th. And on Sunday April 17 one of the 2 garage doors had broke and won’t go up or down. The main spring on the garage door broke. We called first thing Monday morning April 18th and talked to customer service and sent pictures of broken garage door/spring. Also they have a 30 day warranty. Then called back may 5th and talk to a Zach. Which now they say dosent work there anymore. So we talked to a women name Catalina and made her aware of the issues and sent pictures to her and said she would get back to us and haven’t heard or can’t get a hold of her to find out any information. I’m not sure what to do next. If you could please help in anyway. Thank you

      - My order for a carport was placed on 4/1/22, and was charged almost $300 on that day (to begin & confirm the order). The total charge was/is $3,170. or so. - I was told the ETA for delivery of the carport was "2-3 weeks," based upon their scheduling/workload. I was told I'd get a phone call from the scheduler prior to delivery (1-2 weeks after the order was placed). - I told them that was doable/okay because I had just purchased a $30,000 New Holland tractor, and could keep it under a tarp for that long, before getting it safely housed under the carport (when delivered). - Today, is May 26th, which means I've been waiting almost 8 weeks for the carport, which is 2 1/2 times the said delivery time. - To date, no one has phoned me, and so consequently I have called them at least 8-10 times asking for an ETA, or update, or anything to give me hope for delivery. I have spoken with a few different people, who say they can't help my predicament (hands are tied, and I do believe them), and the manager (Elizabeth) will not call me back, even though I have left multiple messages for her. - One of the employees in a moment of kindness and transparency told me (twice) that the reason for the delivery delay is that they "...don't have enough orders in your region (southern Missouri) to make it cost effective to deliver," and that they're waiting (indefinitely?) for that to change. The obvious problem with that excuse is that of course no one ever said ANYTHING along those lines at the time of sale, when I placed the order. Also, cost of metal has gone up since I first ordered. - FYI, since then we've had lots of rain and hail, even, which has caused me considerable stress ...not having the carport to house my expensive/valuable tractor. =( - As of today, I still have NO IDEA if/when the carport will be delivered. This is crazy. Sad. =( Thank you for listening to this, and helping in any way you can. Peace to you, ****** *********

I ordered 2 carports from TriState on 8/8/21. I was told they would be delivered by 12/2021. 11/21, I was told they wouldn't be delivered until 3/21/22. 2/25/22 I received a call that they would deliver them on 2/26/22. I immediately called ****** to rent a skid to make sure the site was level. I met the crew on the property and told them to erect the garage first, and while they were doing that the site would be prepared for the barn. The concrete pad was ready. The crew did not want to unload the barn, which was on top of the garage, so they insisted that the site was level and it did not need further work. I canceled the delivery of the skid. 2/27 I arrived back at the site to find the 30x40 building propped up on my pavers for a total of 136' of the perimeter. Only 4' of the base of the building was on the ground. The crew, without asking, used my sidewalk pavers. I told them that was completely unacceptable. Not only did it compromise the integrity of the building, it posed a tremendous hazard for the horses. Since the crew had finished the barn, they were installing the garage at this time. I called the Head Installer, Jorge, and told him my concerns. He insisted that no matter how level the lot was they would have to use bricks to level the building. He offered to pay me for the pavers, although that wasn't the main problem. 2/28 I called-TriState, Jorge was on speaker phone with Elizabeth the manager. Again he said that no matter how level the lot is, even if it was "perfectly level," they would have to put it up on bricks. He said he has been an installer for over 20 years and they always have to level it by propping it up on bricks. When I went to the property 2/28 both buildings were gone. 3/15/22 I let them come back and reinstall the garage only and I would pay the balance minus the deposit from the barn. Now they are threatening to come back, take the garage and not return my $9028.16-I paid them with a cashiers check on 4/1/22.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.  When I called a couple weeks ago I spoke with Elizabeth who would not listen to me. She was the one threatening that they would come take the building and not refund my $9028.16.  She said not only would I lose the deposits on both buildings, but that I would also lose the balance of $9028.16 that I paid.

Is that legal? Can they come and steal the building I paid for?  I know it's possible because they took both buildings down when I complained about the one being propped up on bricks. (see photos). It doesn't surprise me that they will not respond to you.  I asked for the owner of the company to call me back, and still haven't heard back.  Please, please help me resolve this.  I am waiting to move, and can't until I know my garage building is safe from being stolen. (It's just a carport screwed together...and I know their crews can take it apart in a matter of hours.).

      Thank you so much!

      Mrs. Neal –

This is in response to Complaint # ********

Customer ordered 2 carports from a dealer in Colorado.

There were 2 separate contracts for both buildings in which the dealer retained the 10% deposit on both contracts.

We finally put up the building from 1 of the contracts and the balance for that building was due upon completion.  The client sent a partial payment for the completed building and thought she could minus the deposit she made to the dealer on a completely different contract.

Client will have to remit the balance for the building that was put up.

Client will have to try and negotiate her deposit from the dealer she placed her order with for the 2nd building,  because the deposit does not come to our company, it is retained by the dealer.  All we’re allotted is the balance upon completion.

      Sincerely –

      05/11/2022

I am rejecting this response because: They are not giving a solution to the problem, they are pushing the responsibility on to their dealer.  TriState will have to work with their dealer to get the deposit.  Again, a possible solution is if they will refund my $9028.16, they can come get the building and keep the deposits for both buildings.

I paid $128.50 down on a carport and received a contract on Aug. 2nd, 2021. I still do not have a carport and have called the business several times and they say there is no record of me or any order for me. I sent the picture of the contract and my canceled check but they still say I'm not in the system. I want my money back as it appears I'm not getting a carport. The # I call is 877-494-2997 and I have spoken with different people but more than once with Matthew. I have also e-mailed Matthew at ************************.com and I e-mailed their general sales dept. tonight at **********************.com I have also contacted the local dealer more than once as he took my deposit and gave me the contract but he says it's out of his hands once he has ordered the carport which he did in Aug. And he verified the order and the price early last fall and we expected the carport in Oct. 2021.

I am rejecting this response because:  I have spoken with the local dealer several times and he states he has worked with Tri State Carports for over 10 years and he DID send the order in.  What I know is I have a copy of a contract to get a carport and I paid the dealer $128.50 which he cashed and kept.  I am out the deposit and have no carport.  I ordered this 5 1/2 months ago and have NOTHING.  I want my money back.  The dealer refuses to refund my deposit because he says he did his job, he ordered the carport.  I am stuck in the middle with NOTHING to show for my $128.50 and I want it back.  Dealer says Tri State will have to refund my deposit because again, he did his job.  I personally have no idea whether he placed the order or whether Tri State lost my order or what but someone needs to refund my money.  This has gone on way too long.

My husband ordered a carport to cover his boat from a dealer in ********* Mo, in which we paid a down payment and have a contract. We were originally told the carport would arrive end of April beginning of May, so we prepared the area as the contract states, hauled in gravel leveled the area, and prepared for delivery. May came, followed by June, July, August, September, October, November, and December. Every time I call them they tell me they are working on scheduling it we will call you in the next week, that week rolls through I call them and they tell me the same thing. I have called and talked directly to Elizabeth who is a manager, and still no carport. Today I called and talked to Elizabeth who transferred me to Nancy was again told they are working on it and I should hear from them next week regarding delivery. Their website says they are sorry for the delay and to expect your carport to be delivered in 4 to 6 weeks and we are at 50 weeks. When I have contacted the dealer ******** in ********* his comment has been it is not his issue, which I completely disagree with as he sold it and earned a commission. He should be the one calling the company and standing behind the product he sold instead I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get a resolution to the issue.

On 07-03-2021, I place an order for a garage through a Tristate Carports dealer in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Since the placement of my order I have had contact once with the company. I have been calling the business over the past 5 months and have not received contact from the company. I would like to know when my building will be delivered and if they raised the price from the original contract. The website now says 4 to 6 weeks for installation on new buildings, yet they still have not delivered buildings purchased in early 2021.

I bought 2 building on August 7, 2021. I paid my 10% down of $823.80. The work order was sent to the main office on August 9th. My check was cashed on August 11th. When I asked when they would be delivered and set up, I was told mid September. On August 25th I tried to call, no answer. The 27th, I tried 7 times, no answer. The 30th, tried 2 times, no answer. The 31st, tried 3 times, no answer. September 1st, spoke to Penny. She scheduled for the week of the 20th and would call one week ahead of time. September 20th, tried to call 4 times. Finally spoke to Penny. She says they are 2 to 3 weeks behind. Check on status of my order the week of October 11th. October 11th, tried to call 2 times and left a message. Got no response. October 12th, tried to call 5 times and left message. On the 6th try, I finally spoke to someone. They said to check back October 26th. October 26th, I was told that they were waiting on product. November 6th, I was given a set up and delivery date of December 30th. Since I hadn't heard from them I contacted them on December 27th, tried 14 times, got nothing. December 28th, I was told that everyone was on vacation. Check back after 2 weeks in January 2022. I told them I was fed up with their excuses. I asked them how they would like it if I decided to deduct $100.00 a week that I didn't have my products. They said nothing. I also told them that I would be contacting the BBB. They said nothing. All I want is my products delivered and set up correctly.
