      Lease to own w/ Tri-State Carports Mar 2021. Paid dep 10% down. Told would be 8 wks. 8 wks came & gone. Called dealer, Jack C*****. Jack said he would check & to call Tri-State Direct. Called direct & they said - do not have order. Called Jack back & he said he would call them. 2 weeks passed - called again. Nobody knows anything about our order. Rec'd call 1 wk later asking us about if land ready. Said yes ....has been May 2021. No response - called back in 2 wks. Said they would expedite order & have it on next truck to the area. Did not happen! Called Jack & he would check again. No return call or update Called back 2 wks later & told Jack we would give 30 days. 30 days went and gone. We then received a call from TriState Carports telling us price is now $4000, not $2491.00 & do we want to pay extra or get a refund. We told them refund. We needed to get a building now - could not wait any longer. Called Jack & told him. He was furious at TSC & said he would call them as they had contacted several of his customers with the same story. No call back no update. Called TriState Carports again tre: refund.. they then stated they do not give refunds and said they cancel order. Called Jack & he could not believe they were treating us that way. Still no refund. We ordered from another vendor & got another bldg. 12/22/21 recv'd call from TriState carports asking if they can deliver carport on Xmas Day. We told him that they cancelled order due to multiple issues. Asked about refund - said we would have to call dealer. Called Jack & he said I don't know why they told you that.....we don't give refunds.....you lose your deposit if you cancel. Explained my disgust with the whole situation and that I would be giving him and TSC a bad review. He said he didn't care and I could do what I needed to do. Honestly.... It's not about the refund - it's unethical business practices. I don't want to see others treated this way.

      According to complaint, after multiple issues, the customer ordered through another company and got another building before we called to schedule delivery.  Their order with us was then cancelled, on Dec. 23 @ 9:40 a.m., after company was told they went through someone else.  As stated in contract, the deposit is non-refundable.

      We purchased a carport from the business. The carport was installed and then blew away in the wind 6 days later because it was improperly installed. When I called to tell them of the situation they told me it was my fault because I didn’t purchase anchors for the building. I was never told by the business or dealer I had to purchase anchors. One would assume the building would come with anchors just due to the nature of how the building is designed. Elizabeth told me it was the dealers fault for not telling me about the anchors. I told her it’s not my fault as a customer that I didn’t know to ask the dealer about the anchors. She contacted the dealer and then contacted me back telling me the dealer told me about purchasing the anchors. I told her this was not true. I then received a phone call from the dealer telling me he was sorry and that it was his fault he didn’t tell me about the anchors but it’s normally not a problem so he doesn’t tell customers about the anchors. I told him it’s a three sided building so I should’ve been made aware of the building not coming with anchors. He agreed and apologized. I believe the company should be liable for the entire cost of the building and should send us a full refund immediately for improperly installing the building and not properly educating their dealers on proper installation of their products.

       I am rejecting this response because:
      There has not been any sort of an agreement reached.  Elizabeth *** stated she would be willing to sell us another carport at a discounted price.  This is not a weather related incident.  The incident occurred because I was not made aware of the fact that I had to purchase ground anchors by the dealer or by the company when they called me to go over the order.  They knew this was a 3 sided building that would have a tendency to catch wind, and I was still not made aware of having to buy anchors.  Instead the building was installed unbeknownst to me with 3 foot pieces of rebar driven into the ground.  The dealer and the company should know this would not be sufficient to hold the building under normal wind conditions due to the design of the building.  Furthermore, I was lied to by Elizabeth *** saying that the dealer advised me about the anchors.  The dealer reached out to me after this conversation and told me he was sorry he did not make me aware of the anchors and said he was partly responsible for not making me aware of the anchors.  He stated he never tells anyone about the anchors because they’re normally not necessary because people don’t normally buy 3 sided buildings.  It is unacceptable that TRI-State Carport is not taking responsibility for this.  My insurance company is unwilling to cover the loss of the structure because they’re saying it was improperly installed.

      We ordered a building in April 2021 through ******** ******* *********, but the agreement states it is Tri-States Carports. We put down the required down payment, and the buiding was supposed to be installed in 8-12 weeks. It is now December 2021, and we still don't have a building. Whenever we call Southern Outdoor, the seller, they claim it is out their hands, and that we have to contact the installing company, Tri-States Carport. We have called them numerous times, and have never received a solid answer on then the building will be delivered and erected. The last conversations we had with them they tried to extort more money by saying it was going to cost several thousand more dollars to get the building. We contacted Southern, and they stated we didn't have to pay more, as we locked in the cost on the contract. We called Tri-State back and told them that, and they said we wouldn't be getting the building anytime soon. We called them again today, and after several transfers we were told they would "sort it out" and call us back. That was early this monring, and once again they have not done what they said they would do. We are FED UP. I know the agreement said the down payment was non-refundable, but this business should refund our down payment because we wouldn't trust anything they built now, even if they every appeared. It would likely blow away in the first wind.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and I accept it, providing the building is delivered and set up within a reasonable period of time.  It has already been 8 months, when we were told 8-12 weeks.

      I placed a deposit for a garage with these people 7/13/2021. I was told that it would be about 2 to 3 months for the install. I call every week now inquiring when will it be installed and have repeatedly been told "Oh, in a couple of weeks." Then it was "Oh, maybe next week" Well, this morning I was informed there is a chance that it won't happen this year because their workers have started going back to Mexico. I informed them that if it didn't happen this year, I wanted my deposit back for them not meeting their end of the contract in a reasonable time. She informed me that the contract said no refund. This is ridiculous to think I would wait 8-9 months for them to install my garage instead of the 2-3 months like the text message from the salesman said.

      I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. After the last call from them before I filed, the gentleman made it clear I would either wait or lose my deposit.  He also stated it would probably cost me more since it's not happening before next year.

      put down payment on a building from tri state carports through **** ************  in march of 2021 it is now november and they came to put up building after Many calls and no results said they would be here multiple times always had excuses finnaly showed up to install building 5hrs after they said they were going to be here then after 3 hrs of putting up building they were short one piece and they left building unfinished as of this day November 21, 2021 I have had to call them to find out when they were going to come finish building and they cannot give me a date as they have never given me a date through this whole transaction . I have missed several days of work waiting on them Not to show up.When orginally signed contract they said 13 weeks it is way past that .

      I purchased a garage from these people. They have pushed it back 8 weeks now since paying a $2,000 deposit. They return maybe 1 call out of 50 every 3-4 weeks. And everything it’s a new person bc that person isn’t there anymore. I ask what they can do and they completely ignore my question or any information on when the garage is coming. After almost 4 months now I contacted my credit card company and bank. I’d like to see these people put away.

       I am rejecting this response because:

      I did not cancel the order. I reported it as fraudulent. You could not answer any of my emails or phone calls in a near timely manner. Plus I wasted $1500 on concrete plus $500 for extending my storage unit. I plan on legally trying to get reimbursed for this by Tri state as well.

      I purchased a 12'x31' lean to with written instructions that included total height of 11' on high end to 9' on low end to be set flush to a mobile home. The order was placed in May of 2021, and the install was to be in 8- 12 weeks. The install was not scheduled until October of 2021, no calls or updates the entire time. The day of the scheduled install they were a no show, again no call or email. The installer showed up to our home the following day without any phone calls or permission confirming it was a good time for us. The entire structure was too tall and sat above the roof line making it impossible for water to run of our existing roof onto the lean to. They also sat one of the post in front of a porch light causing the back part of the structure to pull away from the front alignment, nothing is square. I tried to speak to the installer at the time of installation, however, he did not speak English and could not understand what I was telling him, so he just left. I paid the bill and asked to talk to someone about the install not being done right, I was connected to a service manager, who asked that I sent pictures to him. The Manager called after viewing the photo's and became very defensive that his installers did nothing wrong. He said we had ordered that size and that I would have to pay for the correction out of my pocket, our order form clearly shows we ordered 11' not 11'6. They said the extra 6" is the tracking and we should have measured it better. Nowhere on the order form or the website does it say to include tracking for overall height. They are making excuses to get out of the poorly constructed lean to. Any professional installer would have noticed the structure not being square and that is was above a roof line causing drainage issues.

      We ordered a shed from this company , who called us and stated that there was a price increase since I had ordered and gave them my deposit, I disputed the increase and they did honor the original price and installed the building in August of 2021. I later hired a company to come out to enclose the front and back ends of the building, which they could not do because the installers did not make the building square. I have reach out to this company asking that they return and make the structure square, but they have only given me a run around and now will not take my calls. I Paid this company in full and now can not enclose the open ends of my building caused by their poor workmanship. I want this company to come out and make my structure square at no additional cost to me.

      I ordered a carport on 4/3/2021. I have paid $1119.11 down. They told me it would be delivered in 6-8 weeks. They called me on 7/30 to verify my order. They told me it would be three weeks and it would be delivered. I haven't heard from them since. Now their website says 12-14 weeks, but it's been longer than 14 weeks. Then they told me it would be delivered the beginning of October and it wasn't. Now they are telling me they don't know when it will be delivered.

      The date is July 15, 2021 we went into the Tri-State dealership and order a carport, paid our deposit that day of $318.39. We were told it would be 8 to 12 weeks and someone would contact us with the install date. That has never happened. I have called numerous times and left messages no one ever returns my calls. I finally get thought to someone and they tell me that they have no ideal when they will be able to install the car port. I waited another week and tried again after many calls they don't answer your calls and when you do get thought they transfer you to your zip code and they don't answer there phones. I finally get though again and they tell me they still don't know as they don't have any installer and it could be the end of November or longer. It has already been 15 week tomorrow. When I go on there website its say order will be fill in order and they are running 8 to 14 weeks but we are already past that. How do you run a business but do not have any installer??

       I am rejecting this response because:  We are all ready at 16 weeks they are saying it will be at least another 2 week or longer because of weather.  If you pull up their website it states that they are running between 12 and 14 weeks out which is already not true as we are already at 16 weeks out.  They need to get it done this week while weather is good.  We were told and their web site stated when we order on July 15, 2021 that they were 8 to 12 weeks out on the installs.  We are already 4 weeks past that now.
