      Very disappointed right after booking. We booked through ****** and thought that was a direct booking. After booking we find out it’s actually through Village Realty. So we paid over **** in Airbnb fees when we could have booked directly through Village and saved. Called both companies and Airbnb was going to let us cancel so we could book direct and Village denied it. Extremely poor customer service and we are already upset 6 months before our vacation starts.

      Magnificent location, terrible property management, planned a two week stay to celebrate our 50th anniversary, should have stayed home. Mold in one of the bathrooms and mold in the ceiling in the game room. Broken sliding door handle replaced with a rope. Electrical hazard with a broken lamp. Twenty lights not working, dryer not working property, range could not be set above 350 degrees, a window frame held together with white duck tap, dirty grimy banister not cleaned in a long time. Kitchen cabinet shelves about to collapse under weight and plastic clips. Two trips to office to resolve issues, manager not on location but spoken to on the phone. No follow up by management on resolution of issues. Very disappointed

      I stayed at a property in nags head managed by village realty in the month of July. Our family had significant issues with this company. Our AC was not running to specifications. Village realty (without coming to visit the property) kept telling us that the AC was working, but it was running at 77 during the day and only as low as maybe 74 at night, despite the thermostat being set at 70, which was as low as was allowed. Upon our arrival the first day, men were seen carrying two window AC units out indicating there was likely an issue with the last guests. We contacted village realty about this multiple times and they kept redirecting and never offered units or explained why two units were being removed on our arrival. The AC was fixed by owners (not village realty) the second night as there was a block on the system, not allowing it to go below a certain temperature. After that night we began having trouble again and contacted village realty multiple times per day about this. They were extremely unresponsive, kept saying the AC was working fine despite showing screenshots that the house was 77 degrees. My husband went into the office himself and they were still unresponsive, just giving us the runaround. In the end we ended up asking to coordinate a call with the manager, and this was declined by the company. Village realty was probably the worst company we have ever dealt with. As yearly outer banks goers for our entire lives we have never worked with a more unresponsive and uncommunicative company. we will never book through them again

      Our house was not clean and we had ants which took VR 2 days to address and then they just showed up hoping we would be there?? You can always get their sales and rental agents on the line but not customer service while you are down renting a home and need help. Very disappointed.

      Extremely disappointed in the experience we endured with Village Realty. The home we rented was filthy and unsafe. Latches to the exterior sliding glass doors were broken, nail protruding from the exterior stairs leading into the home, blinds broken throughout the home, toilet didn’t work, linens from previous visitors left outside the front door, carpet and couch stained and covered in dirt, kitchen utensils, plates, cookware, etc., dispersed sporadically throughout the cabinets making it difficult to find items to cook and eat, all patio furniture disheveled, unclean, and uninviting to sit comfortably. This was our first family vacation and first time in OBX. We certainly didn’t feel welcomed when walking into the home. Working in property management there’s a level of professionalism that is normally provided to guests that was missing from this organization. All communication was done via text. When expressing concerns, there was no phone call to learn more, and to this day there’s been no effort on Village Realty’s part for resolution. I’ve yet to talk to someone to resolve this matter. Needless to say, we’re frustrated and would like this organization to do right by their customers. This behavior will eventually lead to a decline in business if it continues.

      2024 was our first year back to OBX in some time. The experience with Village Reality was very excellent From the reservation, to payment to check-in and check-out processes the services from Village Reality were very positive. I especially appreciated the early check-in option and keyless entry given that we had an infant and small children in our group. Our home was as advertised - well equipped, nicely decorated and clean. We heard from Village Reality during our stay via text. We experienced no problems with the property or the company. All in all, we had a great vacation!

      Our townhouse flooded before we even arrived and Village Realty thought it was okay for us to still be living in there. Jessica was extremely rude and wouldn't even come to the unit to inspect. Even after sending the pictures we will still told that they would do nothing for us except send us out to dinner. The place was wet, smelled, and half the bedrooms were unusable. But that was still okay with Village Realty. POOR service. The repair man had to tell them that he couldn't repair it the next day - we spent the first night without hot water - and then wanted to move us. But what was offered was a place out of the resort - no ocean view (which we had) and a very poor condition rental - why it was left. We demanded a refund (which they acted like they were doing US a favor) and we left. Thank goodness for ******** ****** that got us in a beautiful home immediately and were kind. USE ******** ******. Save yourself the lost two days we endured of our vacation.

      Village Realty has been our favorite realtor thus far. The rental we had this year, Barefoot at the Banks, was outstanding. The cleanest/nicest house we have ever rented. No service calls were needed, extremely clean and everything in working order. We would definitely rent this property in the future if the space allows us to. Great realtor - great home!

      Village Realty has been wonderful. From initial inquiries on a property, to booking, check-in information, even assistance with any property issues they are professional and quick to respond. I highly recommend them for property rentals. We've already booked for 2025!!
