Upon vacation arrival, on July 11, 2024 at 4:00pm we realized: HVAC system was not working. The heat index was over 100 degrees in OBX. We made 22 phone calls to Kees Vacations to report the problem and asked for HELP. We begged for fans. "No fans available" We begged for HELP. We spent HOURS (of our "vacation") on the phone trying to reach someone to assist us. Window air conditioning units had been scattered throughout the home. 3 bedrooms DID NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING night 1 and 2 bedrooms DID NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING for the entire vacation. Room temperature fluctuated between *82 and 91 degrees. (*Infant video cameras). Air conditioning was "falsely" advertised as an amenity for this home. July 12: We were informed by Kees Vacation maintenance personnel that Kees Vacations HAD PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of the non-working HVAC unit. "The AC for this house has not been working for over a week and a half." Kees Vacations had PRIOR KNOWLEDGE the HVAC system was NOT WORKING. We should have been INFORMED of the malfunctioning air conditioning system PRIOR to our arrival. Other property issues: -Dirty linens had not been removed from the property. Visible and marked "blood stained sheets" at the front door. This was a VERY SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD. -1 bedroom had a trash can to collect dripping water. -Mold on shower curtain liner in 2nd floor bathroom. -Tremendous amount of accumulated sand build up in outdoor shower. -Dirty pool furniture -Pool had not been cleaned-Accumulated sand build up in the pool. -Pool deck was dirty and littered with cigarette butts. -Upper deck railing VERY WOBBLY - VERY UNSAFE. -Boards with rusty nails (from the old crosswalk) lying underneath the stairs to the pool. -Kitchen poorly equipped for the size of home. -Pots and pans were VERY OLD and UNCLEAN. -3rd floor jacuzzi was duct taped down with a sign "broken do not use" -1st floor ice maker moldy and inoperable -WiFi wiring was pulled apart.
