I was looking for a ****** Prius for my husband to replace our family's car. ***** met me at the *************** (corner of ****** and ************.). I drove a Suburban and loved it but explained to ***** that I needed a Prius & the Suburban was a non-essential. I asked if he could get me 2 vehicles instead of one and told him my requirements for the Prius:1. Mechanically Sound 2. No more than ******* miles 3. Good overall condition 4. Not ********************* explained that he was a wholesaler for dealerships and worked all over the country. As I was driving around the beltline in *******, he looked up on his phone and found a Prius that would match all of my requirements. I agreed to pay the listed price for the Prius he'd found on the phone, $5500 and would wrap it into my loan for the Suburban, if possible. But, I needed that done the next week so my husband had a way to take my kids to school everyday. Our Prius was leaking Carbon Monoxide into the cab and was not a healthy option for us anymore. ***** agreed (and we even shook hands on the deal that day, has later given me his word) to knock down the price of the Suburban so that my loan amount would be within the financing range. It was $28.5K and was given to him in a check from Navy Federal. In my bill of sale, he wrote down that there was to be delivery of the ****** Prius we'd agreed upon that day.Now it's been 10 months and he has lied repeatedly about vehicles. He continues to deflect and has admitted to not having the money to repay me. I have multiple text messages from him and messages from FB Messenger where he confirms and acknowledges the debt owed and puts me off. This man had no intention of ever bringing that car and I'm an idiot for not knowing that sooner. My husband needs a vehicle and my kids need a way to get to their school and I need help figuring out how to get this guy to either 1) honor his debt and bring me a vehicle, or, 2) pay me the money back.
