On December 16th, 2022 I came home to a note on my door saying my water had been cut off and that I needed to call the emergency business number to get my water back on. When I called, they told me my last 2 checks to them had bounced, and I had to pay $174.50 in cash to the man that cuts the water back on. When he arrived I paid that amount, and told him that nobody had notified me that my checks bounced, and they also never sent me a cut off notice. I called my bank to see why my checks bounced (because I knew I had money in the bank) and they told me they didn’t see where any checks were attempted to be cashed. When I finally went to the office to discuss this matter, I was told that my fee’s were $30 for each check that bounced (there were 2) and $50 to cut my water back on. My complaint is that they never told me that my checks were bouncing, and they also didn’t send me a cut off notice. I was blindsided by all of this on 12/16/2022. I asked to be reimbursed because I was not notified, and the lady told me “I try to do my best on getting in touch with everyone”. She read mine and my husband’s phone number to me (implying that she called me) and I told her that was the right number and my number has never changed. She said “Your number did not work, so I don’t know what to tell you”. I never received a phone call from her, or a voicemail. This was around Christmas and we have 2 small kids here that need to have water in the house. I just want my bounced check fees and cut on fee (which is a total of $110) reimbursed because they never notified me to give me a chance to pay what was due.
