This is truly NOT a reputable business! For mine and my neighbor's fireplace needs Hall Oil and Propane intentionally outfitted us with oversize tanks. Undisclosed to either of us, they require their customers to use at least two refills on their propane tank otherwise there is a $75 fee added to the bill. We have usually have met their requirements, if we can get them to respond to our request for refills. For the last three years we have been charged for their minimal usage fees, plus subjected to their $5 paper statement charges. We opted this year to go back to a wood burning fireplace and asked them to remove their propane tank. Just got another $100+ bill for that! They nickel and dime for everything and service response is abysmal! We have done business with them for more than fifteen years, but never again. Here is our recommendation: seriously, this is not a good company in which to conduct business.

Mr. ******, The tank at your home was a 100 gallons tank, by far the most common tank size we use. We base the size of the tank on equipment and one question asked to all customers, “how much fuel do you expect to use per year?”. We did not intentionally oversize your tank and we offer to downsize the tank, at no charge, to a 50 gallons tank. Your OWN statement reads “We have usually have [sic] met their requirements” proves that the tank was sized properly. How did we intentionally oversize your tank if you met the fuel requirements for over 10 years with no minimum usage fee? Our records show that the first minimum usage fee was applied on 07/15/2017, over 12 years after you signed up with Hall. Your statement “Hall Oil and Propane intentionally outfitted us with oversize tanks.” is false. We did disclose that we have a minimum usage fee applied to customer accounts that do not use the minimum annual usage requirement. We have a signed copy of your agreement that clearly shows the fee. We do not hide this fee; to the contrary, our agreement even has * to draw attention and is posted at all offices and explained in detail to every customer. “Undisclosed to either of us” is false. We do not and have never had a minimum fuel requirement of “two refills”. Our paper statement fee is not and has never been $5. That statement is false. We encourage every customer to go paperless to avoid the paper statement fee, post office failures and undue environmental impact. This is addressed in person, on our website, social media posts, our newsletter, etc. Our fee schedule is listed on the agreement that you signed in 2005. All updates to our agreement are posted at all offices and available upon request, per NC state law. While everyone is intitled to their opinion, you are not intitled to make up your own facts or spread obvious falsehoods online. Our law firm has placed a watch on your online presence, as well as documented your fraudulent and damaging “reviews” here and on Google/other. We plan to pursue aggressive litigation against you for defamation in the coming months for your online statements, clearly intended to damage our valuable reputation and besmirch our character. With many obviously and provable false statements, you should reconsider who in this relationship is “not reputable”. Hall Propane
