I ordered 3.5 pallets of sod for delivery 4/7 & was told it would arrive 4/6. We tilled, removed rocks & leveled the area. On 4/6 the owner said there was no delivery scheduled. He complained about being busy & stressed. He called later to say the sod would be on the 1st truck in the am, but it hadn't shown by noon. I texted the owner & he claimed it had a broken forklift. The driver called to say that his battery was also dead. At 3:40 pm the sod arrived, so it had been baking in the sun since morning in record heat after heavy rain. We laid the sod. The top layers/sides were dry. The middle layers were OK; dirt caked the layers below. The bottom layers were flat or squished between the wooden slats & unusable. Many had sections of only green mesh. The sizes & thicknesses varied significantly. On 4/12 I called to complain about the quality. After the owner lectured me, I tried to give input & he kept interrupting, asking what I wanted. I told him I wanted to speak my mind as he had, be treated with respect & find a solution. He lit into me, at one point saying, "What do you want? You want sod, girl, I'll get you sod." I asked him for 2 pallets of sod or a partial refund. He said he didn't believe me & would visit within 24 hrs. We marked the worst areas w/100 survey flags. No word for 48 hrs., so I texted him photos. He responded, "Had to leave family emergency" & I asked him to contact me when he was back. No word by 4/22, so I called the office to make my request again & offer to pay for disposal. I told them I'd rather not speak to the owner as he was condescending & I was angry. About 1.5 pallets of sod survived, which we moved to a low-traffic area. On 5/18 I texted the owner & he didn't respond. I emailed him a copy of my online review & he replied that he plans to visit, making concerning comments. I asked for clarification on his threatening remarks, which he ignored, stating he would resolve the issue next week. It has been a month & still no word.
