Subject: Complaint Regarding Faulty Repairs and Recall Issue on Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a complaint against Flow Mercedes-Benz of Winston-Salem regarding unresolved issues with my 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450, faulty repairs, and lack of proper service.Recently, the dealership replaced the rear brake pads and rotors under warranty. However, during the original brake service, both front and rear brake pads and rotors were replaced. Despite the recent repair, the same noise persists whenever I apply the brakes. I believe the unresolved issue is due to the front brake pads and rotors, which were not replaced during the recent repair.Additionally, there is an outstanding recall recommendation for my vehicle that the dealership failed to address during their service. This is a critical safety concern, and I expect them to resolve the recall issue promptly.Due to the inconvenience I have experienced, I am requesting the following:1. The front brake pads and rotors should be replaced at no charge, as the noise issue remains unresolved.2. The recall recommendation should be addressed immediately at no cost.3. Reimbursement for the rental car expenses I have incurred, as the dealership refused to provide a loaner vehicle during the repair process. The delays and inconvenience caused by this situation have been frustrating, and I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter promptly and fairly. Please let me know if further details or documentation are required.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,***** ***** ************ Mercedes GLS 450 2017

Modern ****** brought ***** ***** vehicle to our service department on 12/23/2024 for a concern about a brake squeak.  Modern ****** had replaced the brakes in Jan. of 2024 and the parts had a 2 year warranty.  We could reproduce the brake squeak and at the time heard a noise coming from the rear brake area.  We replaced the rear brake pads and rotors under warranty as is reflected in the attached repair order (499964).  On Jan. 2nd 2025 ***** ***** brought the vehicle to our service department and said he could still hear a brake squeak.  We test drove the car and heard an intermittent squeak from the front brake area.  This time we replaced the front brake pads and rotors under warranty as is reflected in the attached repair order (******). If ***** ***** is still hearing a squeak from the front of the vehicle we are happy to look at the car again.  If the brake squeak is related to the brakes they are still under warranty; However, we did already replace both the front and rear brake pads and rotors so it is possible the noise is coming from somewhere else and will require further diagnosis.  If the problem is the brakes, there will be no charge to the customer.  If the problem is something other than the brakes then the customer is responsible for the initial 1 hour of diagnosis that we would spend and any diagnosis or repairs he approves after that.  The warranty, rear brake replacement and and service campaign ***********) completion are reflected in our attached repair order and the documents ***** ***** submitted from Modern ****** on this Better Business Bureau complaint. The warranty replacement of the front brake pads are only in the attachment we submitted because ***** ***** brought the vehicle himself instead of going through Modern ****** and ***** ***** only submitted documents from Modern ****** in his attachments. ***** ******* request #1 and #2 were completed in his two recent visits with us.  As for request #3 we unfortunately do not reimburse customers for rentals when they bring their vehicle's in for service.

I Bought a *** Warranty with the purchase of my vehicle to cover all repairs for the vehicle. Eventhough my vehicle is still under warranty they still want to charge me a Diagnostic charge for two separate items that I'm having problems with each to see if it's covered under the warranty. The only reason to buy the *** Warranty is to avoid having to pay for repair cost that may come up. Mercedes-Benz of Winston Salem is trying to rip off customers that have already spent money up front.

The customer does have a Certified Pre-Owned warranty that covers many repairs on his vehicle.  Unfortunately we can not be certain whether the repairs needed for any customers vehicle will be covered until we find out what the cause of the customers concern is.  We do not require the customer to pay the diagnostics until we know whether the problem causing the concern is covered or not.  That way we only collect the diagnostic fee on failures that are not covered by the warranty.  It would seem that there may be a miscommunication between us and the customer as to whether he would have to pay the fee or not.  He will only ever be charged for diagnostics on items the warranty does not cover.  That is what we were hoping to communicate to him.
