Purchased a car here one month ago. The very next day it broke down. I had it towed to ****** **** and they just got to it today and I was told it needed a new engine. I understand as is policy but this is horrible. There is no way they don't know that this car had issues. Now it needs a $12,000 engine and we paid $10,000 for it.Business response

I bought a car from them that I believe had no issues to them. That was not disclosed the car. Lasted 3 days or approximately 1500 miles. That needs a new engine. They lied about what could have caused it and refuse any kind of help with thisBusiness response

The customer purchased a ********** from our store with ****** miles which was purchased "As Is" with no warranty. We did offer him the opportunity to purchase a vehicle service contract at the time of purchase and also offered him the opportunity to have the vehicle inspected by his own mechanic prior to purchasing, which he declined. He called in a few days later concerned that he may have an oil leak. I told him I'd be happy to take a look and see if there was a possible oil leak. He stopped in a few days after the phone call and had put 1500 miles on the vehicle and also had a loud knock in the engine. My mechanic did find a small leak in the oil pan but that was not the cause of the check engine light or engine problems. I did offer to repair the oil leak. I did not give the customer a cause for his other problems as I would have no way of knowing what would have caused it. Unfortunately used vehicles can break down at any time which is why we offer vehicle service contracts so customers can protect their investment. Unfortunately the customer declined the coverage and there is nothing else I can do for him at this time.

I had this other party.Do some Looking have found out that a truck was up for sale for nineteen thousand it could not sell.They dropped the down to thirteen thousand and I do believe that is When ******* bought the truck they sold it to me for ***** I took it to a macanic after corwim would not help he looked at it and it was way overfull with oil and I had ask corwin why it was overfull before this they said tere one tek does this I think I was done to quiet the vehicle till it sold which tells me they knew it was damaged and still sold it also at no time was I verbally told I could take it to another macanic to have it checked out in fact I ask them to check the alignment and they said they did not have a rack and they could not use any of corwins other lots rack in short they knew they were selling an overpriced pice of junk and covered it up they did not even give me an inspection report I don't think one was even done but I'm sure they will make one now if askedBusiness response

The vehicle was never priced at $19,000, nor was it ever reduced to $13,000. The customer had called me stating he believed there was an oil leak but said he didn't believe there was any issue with any oil levels. I understand his frustrations having a vehicle break down after purchasing, however he turned down the vehicle service contract at the time of purchase. He was also given an opportunity to have the vehicle independently inspected prior to purchasing and signed a form declining to do so. Unfortunately there is nothing else I am able to do for him.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: it is on the car fax report on histoire of the vehical what they bought it for and I bought it late on a saturday he is flat out lying about giving me a chance to have a indpendante macanic look at the vehical there wasnt even time to see a macanic

On Saturday march 2nd i purchased a 2017 Kia ******** from Corwin Public Wholesale. There are SEVERAL issues that really put me against a wall. I had searched online for 2 weeks to find the ONE. Made an appt and went in to check it out. First issue should have been a big red flag. I didnt get to test drive it, the salesman did. He didnt turn on radio or open the sunroof.odd since i was excited about it. Car is beautiful..ok sold. So the finance kid takes me into his office and speeds through the financing and when we get to warranty or service contract the guy tells me warranty is super expensive and service contract is much better, i didnt notice a price on it but again whipping through contract, my bad is i signed it. Went home feeling ok but when i went over my paperwork i freaked out on the $3,350.00 price of service contract. I immediately called and finance *** said to come in the following day and we could take it off. Ok cool. Well i went for a drive and opened the huge sunroof it would NOT close!! The radio? Plays maybe 2 stations. The WORST part was the call i got from my insurance broker, they couldnt find a carrier to cover my car. And the ones they did had premiums 3x the cost. Turns out kias and hundyia are rated insanely due to some tik tok theft issue .So i called the ** *******************, i was in a panic.. he told me come in he would take care of me even if it means trading it back in. Relieved i went about my day. Left work picked up my 20 yr old son and went in. We walked in and were greeted by young man and i told him who i was there to see. Soon another frat boy comes out (** too busy? Even knowing i was coming ) and says ok we will look at the sunroof and give u #s to insurance companies that will cover usays he had no clue about it and im the ONLY one who has had an issue i may have implied he was lying he said leave i said yep got keys and drove my uninsurable car with no radio and roof stuck kid also bowed up at my son. a NIGHTMAREBusiness response

The customer had called in upset that she was having problems getting insurance on her vehicle through her current company, and also had an issue with her sunroof not closing. We advised her that her service contract should cover the repair of her sunroof and we would be more than happy to give her contact information to insurance agents who could help her obtain insurance. The customer stopped into the dealership and we brought her vehicle back to service in order to diagnose the sunroof problem. A sales manager went out to give information on agents that would be able to assist her. The sales manager even offered to sit down and make the calls with her. She refused to give the sales manager any information to assist her. The customer and her son then got confrontational with the sales manager. The customer got upset and demanded their vehicle back and wanted to leave, so the vehicle was brought back out from the service department before we were able to diagnose or fix the issue.
Customer service is extremely important to us but unfortunately sometimes we can not always satisfy the customer, as much as we try to do so.

A few days ago I purchased a Dodge magnum. I was doing this from an hour away asking the salesman if the car is safe in good order. Asked if they check breaks fluids ECT. I was told it is a good running vehicle and it has been looked over. Steering felt tight but things seemed ok. So returning back to *********** have a mechanic look at the car. Mechanic pointed out unsafe wiring bypassed fuses and lines hardwired into fuse box a fire hazard. I called corwin and spoke to a manager. The manager just kept saying car is as is and how does he know it can't be driven. Offered proof from mechanic he wasn't interested. The car has so many more problems but the possibility of a fire is alarming. When I called the salesman now instead of saying they look the car over he says we just change the oil and make sure the tires are good. The manager also said you should have had a mechanic look at it first. I feel deceived and 100 percent regret this purchase. The car will now be parked till it's paid off I can't use it. I would be happy if they would take back the vehicle and get me in something at least safe. Everyone was very nice till they had my money. At the moment I have a useless dangerous car in the driveway to collect dust.Business response

I had gotten my car back in October i believe and i paid i think about 2500$ for my car. December my car was in the shop i had to pay **** to get my car fixed and my car been running funny i was told i get free oild change and tire rotation but when i went in it no longer was available here it is July and my car is not running it's parked in my garage and corwin trying **** to do anything about it i can't make a car payment if my car is down and they over charge to even look at it i want a trade in i do not think they should have sold me this car knowing that it was already having issue i been out of wayyyy too much money for this car and it's not fairBusiness response

On January 20th I bought a jeep grand Cherokee, 2011. They told me that they ran it through their shop and made sure everything was working right, they had to attach a hose that was not attached (something with the steering) I was told that by the guy that sold me the car.. well I gave them 5 grand down on the car.. not even 48 hours later the heat went out.. blew out cold air only.. I had to scrape my windows inside my car the night before the heat stopped.. I had to drive a half hour to corwin wholesale just for them to tell me that I had to do a claim on my service agreement n pay a deductible cuz they wouldnt help or make it right with me.. I told them that I wanted my money back since they lied to me n the guy behind the main counter laughed at me and told me it doesnt work like that so Im stuck with a pile of s*** car that they sold me.. I didnt even have the car for 48 hours and the stupid f**** couldnt even make it right with me.. thats absolutely ********Business response

I paid the $50 for a carfax on the jeep grand Cherokee and On 2/20/2023 before I took it that evening Corwin reported to carfax that .
vehicle serviced-pre-delivery inspection completed
-steering /suspension checked
-antifreeze/coolant checked
-fluids checked
-oil and filter changed
-tire condition and pressure
if this was actually completed.. my car shouldnt of had problems.. I took the keep home 2/20/23 and the morning of 2/22/23 my heat didnt work, it only blew out cold air and Corwin refused to look at it and told me to use my own service agreement.. I didnt drive 59 miles from the time I got the car to when the heat stopped so a day and half Id having the car I all of a sudden have a coolant leak? If they checked it like they are reporting then why would it leak a day and half later and not even 50 miles was driven on the car from the day I got it.. they lied to me and sold me a lemon..
