I am filing this complaint on behalf of my Dad and his wife, 96 and 90 years old, who live in Grand Forks, ND. They hired this business (November 2022) and paid $1000 up front for snow removal. My Dad and his wife are on a fixed income and this is a huge expense for them. Snow was not removed and continued to pile up to the point where the **** would not deliver the mail. The snow was so packed down, it required scrapping, when they did get someone else to remove snow. Because of their frail conditions, snow must be removed down to the pavement to avoid falls while walking to and from vehicles that take them to appointments. My Dad fell a couple weeks ago and required an ambulance. Had this happened after our most recent snowfall, *** would not have been able to get him out of the house. They have requested reimbursement of their total expense, $1000. Based on responses to my stepsister, I am not confident they will see their money. The individual who owns the business is from ********** and obviously doesn't understand how snow removal in ND works. I have contacted the business owner, ***************************** (Welly and Sons LLC) to alert him to the fact that I am filing this complaint and what I expect him to do, which is reimburse my Dad and his wife for the $1000 so they can hire another snow removal service. My Dad's wife talked to him and also requested the money. There was no formal contract but I the canceled check can be supplied. I don't have it at this time but wanted to file the complaint anyway. Please contact me with any further information that you may need. My Dad/wife can be contacted directly but they don't pick up calls from numbers they don't recognize. If you will be calling them from ************, please let me know so I can tell them and provide their number.

    Dear BBB,

By the time I became aware of this complaint I had already resolved this issue directly with both of Terrys family members.  Refund checks were issued to both and have cleared the bank.  In addition the day I delivered the refund checks I also provided the mother a free service because her new snow removal guy had a heart attack and was unable to provide the service.  ********** insisted on giving me two jars of homemade jam as a thank you because I wouldnt accept any money for the free service and apologized for how her family was treating me.

There was a written contract in both cases and I didnt violate the terms and conditions in either case.  *************************** was never part of the process and wasnt aware of the terms and conditions.  I was in constant communication with Terrys sister on a daily basis throughout the process.  I went over and beyond the terms of the contract in an effort to try and accommodate their needs but in the end I chose to refund them their money and walk away.
