      I have signed a lease with this property management company. Without my knowledge added an amendum to my second signing, allowing them to show my apartment while I still live here. If I had known that this was added to my second lease I would have not agreed to it. ***** ***** ********** Urban Village.

      Hi!

      Thank you for your message.

      In our standard lease template (which is sent to everyone who signs a lease with us) it has it noted in 2.4 LEASE TERMINATION, LEASE EXPIRATION, MOVE Out
      4.Once you have submitted your notice to vacate, Urban Village Development maintains the right to show your apartment to future prospects with a 24 hour notice that will be sent via email or text.

      This resident has signed a total of 3 leases with us and this was noted in all three signed lease agreements.

      Also, when we did reach out to the resident to show her unit she pushed back on us and told us we could not enter. We did not argue, we cancelled the tour and we marked her unit as DNS (Do Not Show). This is an exception, but we did this to partner with her since she was quite upset, we reached out to show her unit.

      I only pushed back because they would not respect my first answer, which was no. The property educator was very ************* and then I had to share personal information about my safety and the reason we are choosing not to live in this complex anymore. We have rodents they do not assist us in getting rid of. We do not have cameras in the building and constantly have packages and belongings stolen (bikes) they have refused to install them. They only want to prelease my rental for money. When I viewed my unit it was clean, empty and I had the freedom to view everything in that state. The first viewing was very uncomfortable and they didn't take of their shoes or wear masks **** ** ****** *******. Covid is still very actively rampant. They would have ASKED to work around my schedule I could have easily prepped the unit. With 24 hours notice I could not. People do not want to see units with other people still living in them. It just isn't sanitary or safe. I do not know who is entering my unit I have no identity of the person and it unsafe for that in my unit that I pay rent for, thank you.

      Hello,

      Thank you for your response.  We take value in all feedback and use this feedback to improve upon our services.

      At Urban Village, there is 24 hours notice given to a resident when we will be showing their unit.  This policy is stated in every lease agreement and every lease renewal.  As this resident has lived with us since 2020, this policy is outlined in all signed lease agreements and lease renewal agreements.  If we have a resident that wishes to not show their unit and they let us know this in advance, we will not show their unit as we respect our residents time with us, and their wishes. When this resident expressed her desire to not have the unit shown, our team respected her wish and did not show the unit. 

      Our team follows the CDC guidelines.  In addition to following the CDC guidelines, if we are asked to wear a mask in a unit, it is our policy that we wear masks and booties inside each showing.  We were not asked and therefore followed the CDC guidelines.

      It is our desire that everyone be happy in their home and we go above and beyond to assist where applicable.  We have tried to contact this resident multiple times but have had no luck.
