A vehichle was sold by this company that had not been inspected. The vehicle sold for $4000 and withing a week repairs are est., at $2000. Within one week, the vehichle completely broke down. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but the only response was that it was sold as is. I understand it is an older vehichle, but there was neglect in not preparing the vehicle, i.e. inspection to be safe or operable. When attempting to speak with general manage, the only response was there is nothing we can do. They now will not answer the phone nor allow me to speak to the owner. This company is a complete sham and sells vehichles whether they are operable or not. I am interested in having the vehicle made operable or replaced with vehicle of similar value or sell rescinded altogether. I do not want to be stuck with financing for a vehicle that is inoperable.Business Response

Hello,
We are sorry for your issues that you had after you had bought the vehicle. The vehicles we sell are USED and some like this one have really high miles over 200k. This vehicle was also sold WHOLESALE and for a WHOLESALE price. The vehicle retailed for over 7k, and we sold it for 4k.
In this case, your fuel pump went out after you bought it and we REPLACED it for FREE and also did an oil change for you FOR FREE so we 100% did help you out and did something about the issue.
All vehicles we sell are sold as is, where is, no warranty. The vehicle was running and driving perfectly when we decided to help you out and do the fuel pump and oil change for free and the customer drove off the lot happy after that.
Unfortunetly, we are sorry that another breakdown has happened after we fixed the first one for you, but this is MONTHS after you had bought the vehicle. There is nothing we can do about it at this point.
The fact that you are trying to run down my business and say I sell bad cars when you have a 200k plus mile vehicle break down 2 months after you buy it IS JUST NOT OK. Especially when you are hiding the fact that we did over $400.00 dollars of work to the vehicle FOR FREE!
Have a good day.

First off, We at Metro Motors are so sorry for what has happened to your vehicle! We always strive for our customers to be happy!
It is very unfortunate what has happened to the **** ***** you had purchased. We would have loved to help out with this situation right away, but we are wondering why the customer did not reach out at all and talk to us about what was going on with the vehicle?
At the time of sale in everything we do, the customers are allowed test drives (which this customer decided not to do), they are allowed to bring a mechanic by for a second opinion, and most importantly if they do not feel comfortable, they do not have to purchase the vehicle. This customer in fact LOVED this ***** we sold him. He said that he had been looking for a truck like this for a while, and when he saw this one he loved it. We always allow test drives, and this customer chose not to drive the vehicle because he had said he didnt have much time and he needed to get going and just wanted to buy it and get on his way. We agreed to that and went on with doing the paperwork. During the paperwork side of things there is a place to sign where it states "All vehicles are sold as is. No refunds. No returns." We had let him know that Metro Motors does not work on any of the vehicles we sell, therefore they are sold as is with no warranties whatever may happen to them after the fact if anything does. We explained to the customer that it is in fact an older vehicle with 189,000 miles and that anything can happen and again, we asked him again if he wanted to drive the vehicle to make sure it was up to his standards, at which he declined again and said "Nope, Its exactly what I want!"
The transaction went very well, and we did not hear any complaints about this vehicle until we got a complaint in the mail from BBB. Metro Motors is always happy to figure something out within a few days of purchase if something happens, but now this issue has been weeks from transaction and nobody knows what has been done to the vehicle since these problems has started for the customer. At this point in time where the customer did not reach out for us to help them, we have no idea who has touched that truck, what the causes for any of this was, nothing? At this point in time, due to lack of reaching out for us to help, there really isnt anything that can be done due to the fact that we did sell the used vehicle "AS IS". All we know is that ***** was running and driving, ready to go when it left our lot. The customer saw that as well and after the customer's inspection, the customer decided to purchase the vehicle 100%.
We at Metro Motors would like to apologize again for the issues you've had. We hope you'll still be able to do business with us in the future.
Best wishes,
Metro Motors LLC.

I am rejecting this response because: You was in contact and knew about it immediately by him and his father!!!!!!!! and told him about YOUR mechanics that worked on fixing the head on the motor!!!! and btw need to be fired because of the bolts and gaskets that were found laying around and missing and the taped up coil! absolutely trashy work, absolute worst trashy customer service skills, none of you should be aloud to work on or sell vehicles that go on the road!!!
Sincerely,

We are sorry for the issues you have having. We are not sure where the mis communication had came from. The truck got shipped to us from ******* as we bought it as is on auction. We changed the oil in it, took it for a drive test (which is was running and driving just fine) and listed it for sale. It is a used vehicle with high milage and we can not guarantee that with that being said that nothing is going to break down on the vehicle, that is why we sell them as as-is vehicles at very discounted prices.
Again, We do not stop/refuse the ability to have one of your choice mechanics to look at the vehicle before we sell it. We also encourage test drives, which the buyer chose not to do. The buyer had inspected the vehicle personally and decided to buy it saying "I really love this truck!" We sell the vehicles AS-IS due to the dealership not offering a warranty program, but again if something happened to it, why wasn't the truck towed back to Metro Motors to have us do something about it? I personally did not have any contact with the buyer of the truck until I got a letter in the mail to respond to this complaint. We would've been more than happy to do something about this issue within a few days of the sale but again was not contacted and the buyer did not speak to any of the mangers or owners at Metro Motors. At this point in time we have no idea what has been done with the truck since time of sale, and all we can do at this point is to express to the buyer that we are completely sorry this has happened.
Let us know if there is anything further we can help with.
Thanks

I am rejecting this response because: The runaround is ridiculous, you continue to lie about the fact the buyer and his father was in contact with your office/business, they were the ones that told us about the work "your mechanics" had done to the motor, and it didn't even make it but right down the road and get it towed back? They tried and "your office/business" told them no it was as is and they were at fault and In the same breathe told them about the work they done to it, so wether you or "your office/business" or the mechanics aren't being truthful but it's sad and unfortunate that a company would take complete advantage of some one like that, not to mention lie so they didn't have to admit fault or guilt for the ******, ************** on every level, and just down right disgusting communication and customer service skills, and speaking of skill if your office/business had any at all you would know that truck in perfect condition is barely worth that give the circumstances let alone one that is complete trash, I'm the one who went and got it to a safe place until it could be towed to get fixed, we are stuck shelling out tons more money because none of you are decent enough not to take advantage of people, *** ********** ** ******* *****, but you can't run a business that way and eventually it will take it's toll, which is also sad and unfortunate, maybe you all should think about the kind of business you are running and make the right changes so you can stay in business, if anything comes from this which I highly doubt, but I hope for all involved you learn something and actually want to make a difference and leave the ones who don't behind, that being said good luck i hope y'all can fix it and make it work I'm routing for you but I or anyone I know or associate with will every come close to purchasing anything else from you.
Sincerely,
Trenton *****
