Engine light came on took the car To ****** Granite State Auto. He placed a new catalytic converter. 1 week later the engine light came back on and brought it back and he ordered another cat conv and replaced the defective one. 3 days later the light came on again, so I took the car to another dealership because I did not have extra money to spend for another cat. conv. The repairman told me that my car is suppose to have 2 cat conv on. ****** did not explain this to me. T and J Auto told me that there was a Cat conv there but it was removed and a metal plate was put in place of where the cat conv sat. T and J put a cat conv where the metal plate was and did not touch the front cat conv ****** had put it in. i did ask ****** why he never told me it was in need of 2 cat conv and he said in the state of nh only 1 cat conv is needed. He then said he would replace the original cat conv or the bad cat conv he had removed the first time and would give me my money back. I honestly DO NOT TRUST this man. Here is the real funny part, he is a minister at his own church on his own land. He also sold a car to a girl I know and she had the car a week and it broke down and ****** would not help her. I hope that you can help me. Thank you, ***********************

    Business Response

    Good afternoon,

In response to *************************** complaint, I am not sure where the misunderstanding is. We removed the downstream CAT due to it being rusted out. That CAT is not monitored and not required to pass NH State Inspection. The primary Cat Converter we replaced was defective, so we replaced it under warranty, only to have it fail again. I advised ***** that we will need to upgrade to an OEM part to correct the issue. She did not want to spend the extra money for that upgrade. So I offered that we will give her a full refund and put her original CAT back on. SO she is free to go elsewhere if she chooses to. After that I have not heard from her. I would also like to resolve this as fairly as possible, but I can't do that if she refuses to communicate.

The The owner never told me that he had taken out the second catalytic converter to and placed it with a metal plate. This is why I do not trust him. Hes replaced the catalytic converter twice and times it failed. I am very unhappy. I do not want him taking out the old catalytic converter or the catalytic converter thats failed to replace with the first catalytic converter he had with me because I do not trust him with my car I would like a refund back

    Good afternoon,

On Oct 26,2023 we addressed an exhaust leak, see attached invoice for the repair. The Primary Converter fault did not become an issue until Jan 4,2024. That is when we replaced the CAT.
