I feel like this company finds every little way to screw their customers over. (And they are a government-regulated monopoly so have plenty of power to do so!) For latest instance, they used to allow payment of all accounts (in my case, electric and gas) by saved credit card. Now (I suspect in an effort to nickel and dime everyone) they have, since November 2023, made that option no longer available, For each individual account you have to go through three pages of information fill-in to pay with a credit card. When I complained about this (in November 2023) I was told that it was a "temporary change" (quote from a FB DM) and ... well, here we are in January 2024! Horrible, horrible company.
Update 3/15/2024: I reviewed previously that Unitil was screwing over its customers by taking away a simple way to pay by credit card. They responded: "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We are working with our third party vendor to reinstate this option along with other options that will be made available. Unfortunately, these delays are beyond our control. Please note that we are working diligently to assist our customers as we understand that this is a major inconvenience." Well, the much vaunted update to their website arrived and NO CHANGE AT ALL! This company is horrible. You can't review them on FB or Google either. They are a completely unresponsive, unapproachable monopoly. Nothing to really do about it but UNITIL IS HORRIBLE!
