My husband had a sleep study done and was told no out of pocket was due as our deductible was satisfied. The machine was not ready Dec 2022 Due to no fault of our own the machine was not ready until Jan 2023. I called Derry medical once I learned of this and check again if this was covered by our insurance and was told yes. We now have a bill of 552.81. No one is helping us and this bill was an unexpected expense I expect this bill to be cut in halfBusiness response

Balance for sleep study $349.98 has been adjusted. There was a lot of confusion between patient, sleep study group and his benefits. After review from upper management decision to adjust the patient balance due to sleep study not available for original appointment that would not have hit patient's deductible.Initial Complaint

I would like to make a complaint about the billing and referrals department at Derry Medical Center. They have erroneously billed me several times for charges that I should not have owed. I have had to see several specialists over the past couple of years for pain in my leg. I checked with my insurance company to see if a referral was needed in each case and if the answer was yes I called to ask DMC to send a referral well in advance of my appointments and it was never done. Then I would get a bill for money I did not owe because a referral had not been received or they would say I hadn't paid a copay when I had (I have receipts). Every time I called back I was assured that the referral would be sent and the bill would be fixed. They were not. I finally ended up paying $254.14 for copays, $86.58 to Lewis Medical on 3/6 and $63.17 on 1/20 to NH Neurospine because of referrals that were not received. There are more examples in 2022 and 2021. I paid these even though I should not have owed anything because I was so tired of wasting hours on the phone for months with nothing fixed. All this for nothing since I still have pain in my leg and no one has been able to tell me why. Then last week I received a new bill for $410 for a procedure that was done in December of 2021. When I called, the rep couldn't figure out why I was being billed and said she would look into it and call me back. She never did. I called back and another rep said that the procedure was miscoded and she would correct it and to disregard the bill. She did not correct it. I am sick and called today to get an appointment and was told that I am blocked from scheduling because of the outstanding balance. That's the last straw. I will be switching medical providers due to the incompetence and unresponsiveness of their billing and referrals departments, not to mention that I am still no closer to finding out what is wrong with my leg almost two years later.
