Zero or negative stars is more appropriate. I never write reviews but felt compelled to share my experience at Dover Honda. I traveled 1.15 hours to this dealership after being promised that a used car that I had called about would be held for us to view for purchase. We agreed on a time that was two hours from the time of our call to allow us enough time to get there. We offered to make a deposit to ensure the car was held, but was told by Sarah that we didn't need to. She said that she would have the manager pull the keys and hold it for us until we got there at the agreed upon time. We arrived 15 minutes before our scheduled time to find out that the car was in the process of being sold to someone else. We were told by Michelle that they were sorry but there was nothing that could be done. When I asked to speak to a manager she said she would get someone but it wouldn't change anything. She informed us that holding cars is not their practice and the general sales manager Tony, said that it's a "first come first serve" basis so I'm not sure why Sarah who schedules appointments made the assurances she did, but there is a truth here somewhere of which I will never know. I'm inclined to think the blame is not on Sarah, but on management that puts sales above service. Although the manager said he was sorry, the sorry lacked any form of sincerity. We were assured something that they never had any intention of honoring. Tony told us "he had already processed six deals before noon and he didn't need to come over and talk to us." The offer to look for another vehicle was made, but it wasn't in an effort to genuinely make the situation right. Words are just words when they are not sincere. The visit to this dealership was beyond disappointing. Their lack of integrity and poor customer service is shameful. If this review is read by even one person that can help prepare them for what they might experience at Dover Honda then it is worth the time it took to write it.

We are so sorry!!! I know you have already met management in person but there is no excuse. Your first contact had the keys set aside waiting for you and didn't think and passed them along to another salesperson who sold the car before you arrived. Again, it should never have happened and the intention was to hold but again, a major mistake was made with no communication. We are truly sorry and would love to help rectify the issue. Sincerely, Dover Honda

On February 10th my husband and I purchased a truck from Dover Chevrolet (or thought we did). When we went to pick up the truck they had waiting for us it was a totally different truck than the one we had agreed to purchase. When we went in on the 12th and asked where our truck was the response from the salesman was "it's right there, its the one you test drove". Seriously, we test drove that one but told him we didn't want it because it was not the right color. We even went back to where they had the color choices in the silverados and showed him what color we wanted. After discussions with both the sales manager and salesman we came to an agreement on a different silverado that was more money, but the color we wanted. We assumed they knew what they were doing and did the paperwork for the correct vehicle. But apparently we thought wrong. Needless to say we didn't buy any truck. A couple months prior to this, and we thought about giving them a second chance (stupidly), the service department messed up by missing a leak in my radiator in my blazer and tryed to tell me I needed all kinds of different parts that I didn't need. Not once did the actual service manager either bother to call me on this. We have done business with this company for years, but now we will never go back. It seems like now they are just out for a buck. Buyers beware, they try to blame you for things hey did. Sorry, but excuse me - the buyer is not responsible for checking the VIN numbers' DON'T THINK SO. DO YOUR JOB. Now we have to start the entire process all over with another dealership and hope by this dealership checking our credit score that it didn't ding it too much so we still have perfect credit. Oh, yeah, they offered to get the truck we wanted, but only after I made a complaint to the general manager today.

Hello and sorry for the mishap as that is not ideal and not our goal. Being employee-owned, we strive for better customer service and we fell short. The General Manager said that you two have spoken since so hopefully that is the case. if you have any other questions, feel free to respond and we'll be in touch as soon as possible. Again, our sincerest apologies! Dover Chevrolet

Bought Two a unsafe vehicle! Was told months after I purchased the vehicle that I'd have to pay for a muffler, which I did. I had my vehicle checked for leaks three different times. Asked if they could change the cabin filter, they said I DIDN'T have one. I changed it the next day. Come to find out I had a cracked exhaust manifold that was so burnt and cracked it had been this way a very long time. I just thought it was a 4 cylinder and it didn't have a lot of power. Got exhaust manifolds fixed immediately . Went for an expectation sticker after paying two year and $3,000 in repairs. Didn't pass inspection.. I still had four more years on my loan. Got into another vehicle from ***** ********* out of desperation . This vehicle. Had another garage check my car over these are what they found. All my tires sensors were damaged and was leaking air . Transmission leaking and wouldn't register fluid on the dipstick. Hole in my muffler (YES) DEJA VU These three things that WERE OVERLOOKED before selling this VEHICLE. This has been an absolute nightmare. My family and I is still suffering health issues from breathing carbon monoxide for two years.
