Do NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT< BUY A VEHICLE FROM McCAULEY WHOLESALE, LLC! March 22nd, 2023 Let me start by saying I am business owner, farther and car enthusiast. My youngest son “B” (a type one diabetic since 2013) found what he described as a fantastic truck he found for sale a McCAULEY WHOLESALE LLC. I took the day off work and we drove several vehicles from this dealer. B settled on a very nice looking 2012 Chevy Colorado with 76,023 original miles. During the test drive the truck drove exceedingly well and from the exterior looked to be in very good shape, we did not notice at the time of the test drive there was not a current inspection sticker on the windshield. Note this is against the law, any dealer plate bolted onto a vehicle MUST HAVE A VALID INSPECTION! I have attached pix of our test drive that illustrates no inspection sticker on the vehicle whatsoever. Please also note on the day we test drove the vehicle the only posting in the vehicle was the sale sign in the front window and I quote “1 year warranty, Gas Saver, LIKE NEW”. My son was very excited, he is anxious to begin to build positive credit in his name. Of course I am a proud father that wants to promote the American dream and will do anything to help him. I agreed to cosign a loan for B as I did with his older brother several years prior. We were steered to DCU through McCAULEY WHOLESALE, LLC. This process was super easy and we had a bank check 2 days later. When we went to pick up the vehicle Mr, A**** (the owner) stated the vehicle wasn’t ready and had to have the safety inspection done, he said come back the following day to pick it up. The following day my wife drove B to the dealership and was able to pick up the Colorado. I got a phone call saying the inspection was only issued for 60 days due to the OBD emissions not meeting standards due to the battery replacement. We were instructed to drive the vehicle for some time then bring it back for the emissions check and a fresh sticker. Several weeks had passed and I had some free time on a Friday so I decided to bring his truck to the McCAULEY for the inspection. ( The night prior the rusted tail pipe fell off the truck and was in the bed of the truck) Mr. A**** stated they do not do their own inspections and to take the truck to ******* ****** *** ********* **** ** ******* **. I drove the truck to the inspection garage as indicated and the owner quickly without inspecting other than checking OBD requirements issued as 13 month new inspection sticker. I was kind of baffled as the exhaust that had just fallen off the day prior was literally in the bed of the truck! After the inspection I was able to have a local ***** ****** ******* replace the rotten tail pipe. When the tech asked me to come look at his work up on a lift I discovered what I assumed was serious frame rot. The very next morning I took the Colorado to a garage down the street to have a safety inspection done. The report (also in the pix) stated the vehicles frame was so rotted it was deemed unsafe and should be parked and not driven. The dealer clearly knew this was an unsafe vehicle and not only violated the law but sold an unsafe vehicle to my SON! Unfortunately after we discovered this we found out this a repeated pattern and we are not the only unfortunate buyers to be scammed. I kindly asked for our money to be returned, Mr A**** declined and stated we had to drive vehicle back to him for repairs. I explained the vehicle was unsafe to drive and he was more than welcome to send a wrecker at his expense to come get it, he declined. It is now my duty to my son and all the other poor people Mr A**** has ripped off to pursue this to the full extent possible. I have notified the NH State Police safety and inspections department and am currently working with Richard Leute. His department has been aware of this unlawful transaction as well as the illegitimate inspection scheme. I am grateful for my local Kittery PD department, Motor Officer ****** as he was fantastic steering me in the right direction. I have notified both Attorney Generals in Maine and New Hampshire of the situation and plan on meeting with a specialized attorney next week. My goal now is not only restitution, compensation but to make sure this deceitful excuse of human will never be able to sell another vehicle as long as he is alive! We welcome other comments of victims on this blog.Business response

I have been scammed and ripped off by a used car dealer who has clearly broken the law by putting a new NH State Inspection sticker on, and selling me, a truck that had very serious safety issues and is not safe to be on the road. I purchased a 2008 Ford F-150 from McCauley Wholesale in ******, NH on December 21, 2021. The owners of the business (Glen A**** & Gary C******) sent the truck to a friend of theirs ******** Reconditioning and Auto Repair in ***** ******** for a new NH State Inspection sticker on the day I picked up the truck. Two days later I took the truck to a mechanic (Glen B*** at ****** Motor Works) to perform any maintenance it might need. He put it up on the lift and immediately called me over to see the underside of the truck. The frame was full of holes, and rusted and rotted from front to back on both sides and on all of the steel structures connecting the two sides. Glen B*** said the truck was unsafe, was a safety hazard and should never have been sold to me, and certainly not with a new inspection sticker. I paid $13,000 for the truck. The owners of McCauley Wholesale have refused to give me my money back for the truck. They have made several offers to fix the rust and holes, keeping the truck for 2-3 weeks each time. I have had it re-inspected by Glen B*** each time, and he stated that nothing had been fixed. I took out a loan to buy this truck so I cannot afford to buy another one. It fails the NH State Inspection so I cannot drive the truck. It is sitting in my driveway while I make monthly payments to the bank. Is there anything that can be done to make McCauley Wholesale refund my $13,000? In addition to refunding my money they should lose their license to sell cars, and ******* Reconditioning and Auto Repair should lose their license as a NH Inspection Station.Business response

I DO NOT accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because: It is filled with misinformation. He alludes to how helpful he tried to be and nothing could be further from the truth! I have documentation to prove that he is dishonest and corrupt and I am not the first person he has done this to. For example, he states the only rust under the truck is on the "Unibody". Ford did NOT use a Unibody in their trucks from 1963-2015. This truck is a 2008 so that was clearly a lie. The rust is present throughout the frame of the truck and it does not and CANNOT pass inspection.I will be contacting legal representation and pursue this until I get my $13,000 back and put McCauley Wholesale out of business.

On February 24, 2022 I, ****** *******, purchased a 2010 Chevy Tahoe in the amount of $10,150 from Glenn A**** at McCauley Wholesale located at *** ****** **** in Exeter New Hampshire. On the way home from the purchase I had called him about a hanging fuel tank bracket and was told to just break it off and not to worry about it. I was told it wasn’t a big deal. Since then I have reached out several times about issues with the motor, the heat/ac system, door panel, the main drive belt and pulleys, coil pack and spark plugs, tire sensor issues and now having issues with the motor and stabilitrack control system, motor issues (either push rods or hydraulic lift and cam shaft) and possible oil pump and oil sensor issues. Glenn has not reached back out and has stopped answering my calls and messages. I have 2 little girls and a stay at home mother and need this issue situated. I spent the money in cash with being told that it was a good truck, it was an awesome deal and that I was assured that I would be happy. That is by far the case.Business response

Complaint: ********
I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because there were not multiple offers to bring the car back. There was initially ONE offer and before that could even be taken up Mr. A**** stopped responding to the both of us. Very recently we were able to get in touch with him, he said he would help us get it somewhere to be fixed and to be patient, which we indeed were. My car sat on the side of the road across the street from the business that he referred us to for an entire week without even being looked at. The mechanic claimed he didn’t have a scanner because his broke. Now it’s that his garage is in the process of moving location. Excuse after excuse just like Mr. A**** gives. My car is now at a FOURTH garage having the motor ripped apart, which they have said most likely needs to be replaced all together and are giving us a hard time about going through the warranty Mr. A**** sold us. We have yet to find a single place that wants to accept his warranty.
Sincerely,
****** *******Business response
