On 2/05/24 I purchased a 2017 Jaguar XF35T Premium for $10, ****** cash, I drove the vehicle back to NY state where I live, my salesman *** while looking at the vehicle told me and my fiance 3 times that the vehicle would come with a limited Warranty, after signing all the paperwork he then stated that the vehicle did not come with any warranty because of the age of the vehicle, the vehicle had ****** miles on it. I scheduled to have the vehicle inspected on 2/15/25 at ***** Tire and warehouse, however on 2/14/25 the check engine light came on, I contact *** the salesman at Marks Discount Truck and Auto who told me he would have the manager contact me when i finally got a hold of the manager he told me they could not do anything because i live in ***. I continues to have the the vehicle inspected which it didn't pass due to check engine light on, took the vehicle to Bulldog Auto on 2/17/25 replaces PCV Valve and PCV Gasket Cap for a total of $330.73, they also repaired the coolant hose as it was leaking on 2/25/25 for a total of $323.72, drove the care in hopes it was fixed took for inspection failed inspection due to dx issues, took vehicle to Lexi's on 3/3/25 repaired pipe intake total of $359.99 scheduled re-inspection for 3/8/25 the day my 10 day inspection expires, driving there check engine light came back on, this vehicle is back in the shop with 5 code 3 of them being communication modules of which i will have to have the dealer repair which is going to be extremely costly and the back up camera does not work I purchased this vehicle with cash and i can't even drive it as it still will not even pass inspection, The miles now on the vehicle are ******. I have all me documentation of repairs codes that have shown up and i am looking for some type on compensation idealistically i would like to return this vehicle and get my money back, they sold me a lemon vehicle and will not repair it and i literally can't even get it inspected. I have not heard from them, I was not able to date to get this vehicle inspected it will cost to much money for me to complete repairs, I have since taken the vehicle off the road as I can't drive it. I will have to purchase another vehicle. This has set me back financially as I paid cash for this vehicle which never could pass inspection.Initial Complaint

On February 29th 2024 I bought a vehicle from this used car dealer under the agreement that this vehicle was free of all major issues or repairs. That was not what I got. I was notified by my insurance company that there was a open recall on the vehicle for airbag issues not the dealer. The brakes needed to be changed. There is a major pull to the passenger side of the vehicle. There is a major shake in the steering wheel indicating that there is something wrong with the tires. The windshield has rock chips in it. It's missing panels on the rear seats the rear seats do not slide like they are supposed to. I have contacted the dealership and they refuse to do any of the necessary repairs on the vehicle. This business is taking women for stupid and treating me as a women as if I don't know what the vehicle needs. But when my son's father calls they are all nice and willing to talk to him about what to do to get repairs done. I come down here without him to have said repairs done and they won't even listen to me or do the repairs that are needed now. I'm financing this vehicle it should be safe and free of major issues for the price I'm paying.Business Response

I am a little confused as far as timing goes on this review. ******************** was at our dealership on the day you got this complaint. She had called in with a concern which we told her to get it back hear so we could look at it. ******************* could not make it back for a month and with no notice we took the car in the same day and replaced a set of brakes on the car. She also stated at different speeds on the highway the car would have a shimmy at times. I urged her to go to a town fair tire and we would get the tires balanced and have an alignment done. Then on the following Monday I got this complaint.Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle from Mark’s on 9/2/23. Matt had called me that day to verify I was coming, telling me there was another person interested, creating a sense of urgency. Upon arrival, I test drove a 2011 Nissan Rogue with 114500 miles and was assured this car was reliable and when asked why it was priced low, was told all of their vehicles were priced to move, this was a great car, just came from a dealership’s trade in. I asked if this was inspectable and was told it came inspected and had a 3 month 3000 mile warranty that would cover all engine or transmission issues, should they arise. I expressed some concerns over reviews of this model and was reassured by Matt, that any repairs would be fully covered, to not worry, it was a great car. A month later, the car wouldn’t start and upon taking it to a garage, it turned into a nightmare of needing tons of new parts, including an oil pan leak that was very obvious and Marks withheld that. It needed a brand new transmission which was only covered at what I paid for the car, not what Matt told me would happen if anything went wrong. Upon speaking to him, he claimed to not know that and proceeded to tell me his boss would be contacting the warranty company, which never happened. They willfully lied about the condition and warranty coverage and asked what I expected for what I paid. This car ended up costing 7000 to fix, 3995 covered by their warranty. Had I known at purchase that I wouldn’t be covered, I likely wouldn’t have purchased. This was an as is, and I’m sure buried in the flurry of paperwork they will claim it’s all laid out, but they were verbally misleading as well as evasive about the condition. Matt also disagreed with the parts and labor referring me to things I could purchase on ebay for less. The very worst part about this, are the effects on my health, the stress this ordeal has caused is phenomenal. IBusiness Response

In response to ***** ********'s complaint, she purchased a 2011 Nissan Rogue for $3,995. At the time of delivery this vehicle was inspected and safe for the road. Forty-five days after she received the vehicle, she replaced the transmission. Her complimentary service contract covered the cost of a brand-new transmission from Nissan. Had she contacted us prior to the work being performed and overpaying $7,000 for a transmission, we could have saved her a lot of money. The other two items mentioned were an oil pan gasket and a starter, both of which can go at any point on a used vehicle. A gasket cost's about $25 and a starter around $125, plus an hour of labor. She had these repairs done elsewhere between two different shops, in Milford and Amherst. After it was worked on, she informed us that the mechanics who performed the work were "incompetent", and her vehicle would not start when she went to pick it up. I believe Ms. ******** has received a more than amicable solution to her complaints listed in ID#********.Customer Answer

Purchased a vehicle (2011 Ford Escape) from dealership on or about 15 July 2022. Vehicle was purchased to replace a vehicle that was in an accident for my mother-in-law, and to be titled in my name with a transfer of registration. I will admit that I was in a hurry due to having to travel for a medical procedure and wanting a vehicle available at the house. I completed the transaction and received a loan from Hanscom Federal Credit Union. The following week I went in for an unexpected surgery that had complications that required sedation for a week an a half. I was not able to drive until October, at which time I realized that the temporary tag was expired. I completed an online Vermont temporary and scheduled a date (Dec 2022) to go in and register the vehicle. I was unable to register because the dealer had stated they sent the title directly to Vermont. After contacting Vermont DMV Title office and the credit union, neither had the title. I made several attempts to contact the dealership over the next several months -- both phone and email. This resulted in nothing and my decission to wait until the 15 year mark where all i needed was a bill of sale. The vehicle was damaged during heavy rains and flooding in July of 2023. The insurance company totaled the vehicle -- all of their attempts to retrieve a bill of sale or copy of the previous title were unsuccessful and met with resistance. I also talked to the original sales agent during this time and gave verbal permission to share the documents with the insurance company (who also had a power of attorney to deal with the vehicle).Initial Complaint

My experience began on Monday August 21, 2023. I went to Marks Discount Truck and Auto to look into a 2014 Toyota Tacoma. While looking into the car, I mentioned some unexpected sounds during the test drive, but the sales person said I am just not used to the car, as the car was inspected by them and confirmed to be safe for NH highways. I was looking into the car for a reliable vehicle to take my son back and forth to day care. I walked around the vehicle lot trying out the car seat in each car to make sure there was a comfortable fit. All of my conversations with the sales staff were about how much I valued the safety of the vehicle for my families sake. I decided to move forward with purchase of the truck on the verbal grounds that the Truck was safe and would pass NH inspection. I was assured this was the case, and we finalized the sale. The dealer added a NH inspection sticker to the car and I went home. It has been a week since the sales, and I have driven less than 100 miles. While driving my 14 month old son to daycare, the exhaust assembly fell out from the bottom of the car, seemingly due to extremely advanced rust. After looking at the exhaust in detail, I believe that I was defrauded by the inspection station to believe the car was certified safe for high way use. I do not believe an independent inspection station would have passed the vehicle for safety. I believe that this inspection station is ignoring NH safety standards in order to obtain business from NH consumer on illegitimate grounds. NH Roadways should be safe for all, and officially licensed inspection stations have a duty to inspect vehicles honestly. It is a real shame that the sales people looked me right in the face and sold me an unsafe vehicle knowing I would be putting my young child in there. NH roads deserve to be safe.Initial Complaint

I recently bought a vehicle from marks discount truck on May 22, 2023. I bought a 2017 Ford escape SE and everything was great for about two days and then my check engine light came on, I was in contact with Matt, the sales person, to get his mechanic to check the light. his mechanic was never available so he had given me a number of another shop, they fixed one thing on my car that had deteriorated in his hand, and then the check engine light came back on. I got it read again and it came back as the turbo charger that needs to be replaced. I texted matt to help figure out what to do and he basically said they can't do anything and that he would talk to the owner and have him call me (which he never did). i hadn't heard back so I called marks discount trucks directly and got a hold of joe. At first he brushed it off saying "matt told you what we can do for you and that's it" and then I told him my side of the story and he said that he would see what they could do for me. when I bought the car, matt had told me that they can up the warranty that I'm on as needed. i had asked if they could work with me, they pay labor i pay for part's because i was given incorrect information to begin with and it's on them. it's going to cost $2,200 to replace and these guys couldn't care less about righting their wrongs. I understand it's a used vehicle, It's never going to be reliable when you buy used, but these guys have been leading me on since day one. I've called every day several times a day for two weeks to try and get a hold of joe after I had called him Friday July 21st around 3 PM and he said I will call you right back, I'm with a customer I said OK great. I never got a call back, it's now August 1st and I have not gotten a call back after calling again several times a day every day. I'm not expecting a call back from them now because it's been over a week. i just needed an answer if they were going to help or not so i could start saving, i've gotten nothing.Initial Complaint
