In September of 2022 my wife and I purchased a 2016 Jeep Compass from Beato. We should have run from the beginning. It took 3 SCHEDULED meetings for them to actually have the vehicle on the lot, that alone is horrible business practice. When we were finally in the process of purchasing the Jeep we were not notified of any issues with the title, or the vehicle itself, were promised the vehicle was safe and reliable, and somehow it managed to pass inspection by a “third party”…assuming a inside deal they have with the place they used. Once we finally signed, it still took 11 days, and again a few different SCHEDULED appointments to actually get the vehicle. When we purchased it we also purchased the gap coverage and a $2500 service contract from the dealership. Within a few months the vehicle began to show its issues and now Beato has gone out of business and there are several complaints filed against them with the NH attorney generals office. Needless to say, our $2500 service contract was pointless and I’m having to pay for all these repairs, instead of just labor costs, out of pocket. This vehicle is unsafe, unreliable and costing too much in repairs. We want our money back Beato!!Initial Complaint

Brought my daughter to purchase a vehicle from them which was closed on 1/30. The car was making a ticking noise while running we were told was due to being cold and not run for awhile. We brought the car to get looked at by Meineke which said the car shouldn't have passed inspection due to an alignment issue with the rear window wiper and the ticking noise should have been addressed by the dealership as their could be a timing or issue with the serpentine belt function. We have contacted the dealership several times with nobody contacting us back. They have numerous complaints with the AG office for the same issues with selling cars that don't pas inspection or have mechanical issues. They are inspecting the cars themselves and placing good inspection stickers on cars that should not pass inspection. There website says there permanently closed but that has been up when the car purchased. says they are selling the business and the state is involved but they need to address the current issues they have with their customers. The methods they are using are ignoring customer issues and having no accountability taken fir customers financial loses due to fraud and deceit.Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle from Beato auto sales in January 2023. I purchased a 2016 jeep Cherokee for roughly $25,000. I was informed that they would mail me my plates and take care of the registration, but we are now in April and I have not received the plates or the title for the vehicle. After reaching out to the company, I found out that they close their business down and supposedly filing for bankruptcy. I tried applying for a duplicate title through the DMV of New Hampshire, and I was informed that there was no record of the vehicle in the state of New Hampshire. Now I am unable to drive a vehicle that I am currently paying my bank back for.Business Response

Yes due to our closing and filing for bankruptcy all our transactions have been put on hold. Per the insructions from the Court of Bankruptcy and the State of NH we have to wait till we are able to reopen to complete any transactions. We are working diligently with both infratructures to get speed up the process of reopening so we are legally able to finalize and rectify customer complaints and issues. At this moment we just aren't able to process anything due to closing the beginning of February. Once we are reopened we have every intention of resolving all issues this closure and filing as created.Customer Answer

We understad the customers position and truly feel for the their situation and would love to be able to assit. Legally we are not able to until we are reopened or the State of NH allows us to. Until that time we can not do any form of transactions without thr approval from the State which we do not have at this time. We do apologize for the inconvience and situation this puts our customer in. We do wish there was something we could do to recitfy it quickly. Once we reopen we do have every intention on completing this transaction and recitfying the problem.Customer Answer

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because: I should have never been sold a vehicle from Beato auto sales if they were closing down their business and filing for bankruptcy. I do not have the title for the vehicle which prevents me from registering the vehicle, which now the vehicle is parked on my street and collecting parking tickets for no plates and expired inspection sticker.

We never planned to close and file bankruptcy. It was an unexpected situation that presented itself and we were forced to file bankruptcy and close till we could get back on our feet. We anticipate reopening. We also have mailed you your title back on February 8th via regular USPS mail. You should have recieved that by now to be able to register your vehicle. Attached is a copy of the paperwork sent to you. With those documents you are able to register your vehicle. Also your lender never paid for us at the dealership to handle your registration so it is your responsbility to register. Please double check you should be in possession of the title already. It was mailed to the address you provided to us and the lender.Customer Answer

I made a deposit of $9000 towards a purchase of a vehicle on 5th January 2023. The dealer failed to provide the vehicle or my refund. The Manager called me on the 2nd of February apologizing and promised to transfer my refund but I haven’t received anything. The last time I contacted them I was told the company was purchased by another companyBusiness Response

In regards to Mr. ********s concern, we initially planned on refunding him the 9,000 deposit he is referring to on February 9th. Simultaneously we were consulting with lawyers about the situation at hand with Beato Auto Sales Inc.. They advised us to hold off until they were able to decide a pathway for us to take. We were discussing filing a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy at the time and did not want to make any decisions or complete any transactions until that decision was made. Once we solidified our decision and filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on February 13th, 2023 we were advised to not move forward on any transactions without the court's approval.
On February 14th, 2023, Mr. *******’s attorney mailed a letter demanding that we refund the $9000 which we forward to the Bankruptcy court of New Hampshire through our attorney ***** ** *******
We understand that this situation may have created some uncertainty for Mr. ******* but we want to assure him that we have every intention to honor our obligations. As we move forward with the reorganization process, we are committed to working with our creditors to find a mutually agreeable solution that allows us to repay our debts in a timely & responsible manner.Customer Answer

So I bought a car from this dealership using a bank check, I gave them the money to register the vehicle on my behalf that was included in the bank check, after giving me the car with a temporary plate that is to expire soon a month later they tell me this car cannot be registered and I have to return the vehicle to them. I’m not sure why it cannot be registered but to me it seems they do not have the title. The vehicle is currently in my possession and they have been emailing me to bring the car back but they are currently closed, for “restructuring” as their voicemail says. I am able to contact someone via email but they are not giving me an exact date as to when they will open so I can return the vehicle and sign off on a “pay off letter” so they can pay my bank with the same money I gave them and return the car. Basically to cancel the deal. Right now this is very confusing because I’m not sure if they are lying to me or not or IF they are even going to open again which leaves me with a car that I cannot register and would have to pay for monthly. This car needs to be returned to them asap but as I mentioned before the business is closed. I would like to report this business and see what you guys can do about this. I currently have a bill of sale proving I bought the vehicle and to clarify I am referring to Beato auto sales in Nashua NH (it was not on your drop down list) but so you guys know that is the exact location where I made this transaction.Business Response

Regarding the buyback of the vehicle of Mr. *****, the court of bankruptcy of the State of NH is handling all previous transactions per their court order. As explained to Mr. ***** since our chapter filing the court has taken over all previous customers including him and will be reaching out regarding his options in the next steps that can be taken. We have advised him that until the court reaches out we are not legally able to assist in any pending or previous customer transactions per the court order. Once that happens and the court gives him his options depending on what he chooses the court and the new company taking over Beato Auto Sales will be able to buyback his deal and recitfy his issue. Until that happens we at Beato Auto Sales are not legally able to do anything without the court approval and per their order it must go through them, which has been explained to Mr. ***** on a few differenet occasions. We have advised him to keep records of everything so when the court reaches out he can provide it to them and new management will be able to complete his request.
Thank You

I purchased a vehicle from Beato in November 2022. The advertised price for the vehicle I expressed interest in was about $23,000. Fair asking price for an excellent condition model of this car. That was not the case at all. The vehicle was and still is dirty on the headliner. buttons dont work. Major collision prevention system is still offline sunroof wont work. Okay, they said they would take care of everything. They took care of all they could and ordered the rest of the parts needed to make other repairs. They also helped me with negative equity from my trade-in! For that I am thankful. Now where my complaint stems from is the deception and misrepresentation of the vehicles condition. This car has been in a reported accident resulting in moderate damage to the whole passenger side of the vehicle. I found this out after getting the vehicle appraised a few days ago. The vehicle was valued closer to $13,000 considering its condition and reported accident. At my initial appointment I asked about any accidents reported to insurance which I was told no. My girlfriend was present and asked again which he stood by the lie and said no. I decided to go through with the purchase in good faith as I was not provided any car fax report even after asking. To add to this, they went ahead and added a $2700 service contract to my cars financing. Did they mention it to me? no. Did ask me to approve the transaction? No. I have been deceived and straight up taken advantage of. They offered to trade in my car to get into another one with them while putting 30% down. Thats does not seem fair to me considering how bad the dealership has burned me.Business Response

Good Afternoon,
Regarding the matter of the title and lien Mr ****** is stating how the vehicle has a lien on it currenlty. This is not true the vehicle does not have a lien on it. The title paperwork is missing the letter from Santander stating the lien was released when the vehicle was repossed. We found this out after sending all the paperwork needed to regsiter the vehicle to the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Once they sent back the title stated it needed a letter of lien release from the bank. We contacted the bank and they directed us to the seller we purchased the vehilce from to obtain the letter needed for the Registry. We have been working with the seller to obatin this letter for weeks now which we understand Mr. ******'s frustration. We are doing our best to obtian the needed document to complete his registration.
Thank you

Date: 02/10/2023
Good Afternoon,
The deposit did go to your car loan back in 2020 when your purchased the vehicle. Since then the lender that was used was bought out by a different bank that during the transition made errors with multiple peoples credit and loans. We do not personally keep deposits made towards vehicles purchased. We highly suggest that you call your lender formally know as NFA - National Funding Alliance now known as TexCap ************

I bought a vehicle from beato who advertises a 150 point inspection the vehicle was deliver with two sets of tires and very worn braking system. I alerted them of this and they dragged out the process. First I needed to make an appointment with Junior to discuss the issues. I then spent another full day to bring my vehicle. The swapped out the tires with smaller tires which Hyundai deems unsafe. (Smaller by over a full inch in diameter) I am forced to rectify the problem myself and will take them to small claims court. Additionally, they advertised this vehicle as a SE model when it is in fact the Base Model.Business Response
