Do not hire for mold remediation, 10/10 do NOT recommend. ***** and ***** talked a very big game, and they completely over promised and under delivered. We hired **** to fix water damage after a fridge leak. They did the work in half the time they said they would, and they did half the job. They actually created a mold problem in my house and I had to pay another company to come in and do the job right. The impact their negligence has had on our lives is substantial. Mold has to be physically removed, not just sprayed with bleach/MMR nor fogged.*** I tried contacting the owner to right the situation instead of writing this review, but he didn't want to accept responsibility/do the right thing. Do not hire NEDS for any water damage, they are negligent.

    Mrs. *******,

We apologize that you feel the scope of work approved by you and your insurance company was not adequate for the services that you needed.

The estimate that was originally created, that was agreed upon by you, your husband, the insurance company, and NE Disaster Solutions was carried out based upon the scope of work provided to us by ****** ******. ****** ****** provided the initial mold testing on September 28, 2023.

The water damage was caused by a leak from the fridge, which had been ongoing for quite some time. This caused significant water damage and rot to the subfloor and to the studs that were part of the structure. This was not known prior to beginning services, as it became uncovered after removal of affected material. Prior to removing the affected material containments were put in place along with negative air in those chambers to prevent any contamination throughout your home. The services included removal of affected material, disposal of said affected material, HEPA vacuumed multiple times, we treated all surfaces including the studs with a mold disinfectant which kills the microbial growth, we fogged the area of concern 3 times to make sure that mold spores were no longer in the air, we treated areas which had discoloration with MMR, which is a mold stain remover. If discoloration continues after utilizing MMR the discoloration is not mold. Based upon the services stated above, we completed the scope of work that was approved.

During the process after we completed demolition, Jason the Production Manager explained in detail that you had rotted structural material that needed to be removed. The photos that you are attaching show that the wood has water damage and rot. Your insurance company did not approve any of the rot, and it went outside the scope of work that was approved. Jason explained that we were not licensed to do any structural repair and that needed to be completed by a licensed contractor and can be done under our containment. When you spoke with the owner of NE Disaster Solutions, he stated that after the structural rot was remediated and replaced, we could go back and complete further remediation under a new scope of work at a reduced rate.

The time that it took us to complete the mold remediation at your home is null and void. We provide an estimate of the time that it can take for remediation services to be completed, worst case scenario. We were able to complete remediation at your home in 2 days, instead of 3 days. We began services on November 20, 2023, and completed services on November 21, 2023. For your peace of mind, we had a technician come out and wipe areas of concern in the kitchen on November 24, 2023. This was not part of the original scope of work. Our estimates are based off of square footage and cubic feet. PPE and equipment charges were adjusted, to remove the additional day that was on the original estimate.

After our services were done, you signed the Certificate of Completion stating that the work was completed to your satisfaction, on November 27, 2023. We had advised you prior to us removing our containment to complete post remediation testing. As stated by the owner and Jason, you needed to complete post remediation testing while our containment was still up. When speaking with Jason and the owner, you stated that you did not want post remediation testing done because you did not want to pay for this to be completed. A little over a month later on January 19, 2024, you decided to not have ****** ****** complete the post remediation test but a different company who did not write the original scope of work.

The post remediation test showed slight elevation of mold in the air and mold on the rotted studs. These rotted studs had been discussed with you, prior to this testing and recommended to remove. Due to you not following up on the recommendations from Jason, the studs continue to have mold, and this can cause elevated mold results in other areas of the home.

Finally, even after the testing when you spoke with the owner, we were willing to complete the work that was needed. However, we needed to charge for the additional services that were not in the original scope of work approved. You were unwilling to pay for any additional work that was recommended.

We are able to complete mold remediation services, per industry standard IICRC S520 for Microbial Growth. However, avoiding our recommendations and waiting an extensive period of time from when our services were completed to when the secondary hygienist provided the post mold remediation testing, creates a false narrative from what you are implying. Also, this voids the guarantee that was discussed with you prior to services beginning.

Please feel free to call and discuss the scope of work that was provided by NE Disaster Solutions based upon previous communication that occurred with the owner and Jason. We can go over the communication that occurred within text messages, emails, documentation and photos.

    Sincerely,
    NE Disaster Solutions Team
