To Better Business Bureau At the beginning of May 2021, I have decided to purchase a new patio door from Home Depot In Manchester, NH. **** ***** **** *********** ** XXXXX). I was told that Home Depot is working with Chip-N-Nail Remodeling, LLC and they are the ones who install the door. On Tuesday, May 11th, at 10 am Darren from Chip-N- Nail came to my house to measure the door. I was very surprised by his conduct. He was not wearing a mask and was rushing with his job. After he measures the old door, we discovered some rotten under the door. He asked me if I want this area to be replaced. He told me the this will cost additional labor. $95.00 per hour and person and is requiring two people. I Have no choice to agree, even that $ 200.00 per hour seems very expensive. This was including the replacement of two broken tiles next to the door. I showed Darren that I have new tiles and that he doesn't need to look for new ones. He left the house by telling me that the company is very busy and I have to wait 8 weeks for the installation, which was not an issue for me. A week later I went to Home Depot and spoke with Sean. He was the Sales Associate who sold me the door. He showed me the entire bill for the installation. I question the high price of the labor and all those charges. Sean couldn't explain. He apologized. He took some money from the bill, which still came to a total of $3,363.43. On July 8th, 2021 Roderick from Chip-N-Nail came to install the door. He called me in advance when he will be arriving. I was surprised when I saw only one person, knowing that I was paying for two people. He started to work and first removed the old door. After he removed the door and saw the rotten, he said that he was not told to replace it. I couldn't believe it. I was paying $1,433.00 for installation and he was not told about fixing it .He started to call his office. After an hour, he said that he spoke with his company and they contacted Laura from Home Depot. He was told to fix the problem. I helped him to clean the rotten spot. He cut two pieces of wood and covered the spot with tape. The left side of the door was only covered with tape. During the installation, Roderick by mistake broke another tile. I was not upset I said that I will bring my friend to fix it. After this terrible experience, I went at least five times to Home Depot. I spoke with **** and Darren from Chip-N-Nail trying to explain that I paid for two people and wanted everything to be done correctly. On July 15th Darren called me and told me that he is in front of my house. I was kind and invited him to check the work. He discovered that something was not done right and I will get my money back. I was refunded $63.00. Whenever I tried to ask him about the two people who I paid for, he was telling me that this is extra. How much more do I need to pay for installation? After this, I went, at many times to Home Depot asking for help and explanation. I spoke with the Store Manager Kelly, Laura, Nick without success. They were not interested to hear anything. On July 27, I spoke on the phone with Nick from Home Depot. He told me that they did extra $400.00 work. I couldn't believe his dishonesty. After our conversation, I went back to Home Depot and spoke with him. After we met, he told me that now he understands the issue and I was charged too much and he will get back to me. As of August 31, 2021 I haven't heard from him. I went two more times to the store, but Nick was on vacation. I believe that Chip- N- Nail took advantage of the situation. I will never agree to pay $1400.00 for door installation and be left with broken tiles in the kitchen. To Better Business Bureau I would like to thank Better Business Bureau for your care and support. Everyone who I spoke to has been professional and kind. I hope that with your help this issue will be resolve. Sincerely ****** **********
