My daughter was seen at urgent care. Once the claim was processed by insurance, they said it was out of network and we owed 100% of the visit. I called convenient md and the billing personnel told me it was because they were in a contact negotiation, I did not owe the money, and would be reprocessed once their negotiations were done. I was notified on 4/9/25 that I had 15 days to pay my bill with convenient md. I called billing again and was told they would not reprocess my claim, and I needed to call the insurance company myself. I was charged the money without my consent on 4/19/25. Insurance is still reprocessing this claim and convenient md will not reverse the charge, even though it has not been the 15 day deadline or since insurance is still processing the claim and I should not have been charged yet because of this.Initial Complaint

This company fraudulently charged my credit card without authorization. I am assuming someone saved and recorded my credit card information during a visit to ConvenientMD in ******** in November, when I paid my insurance co-pay for the visit, for which I have a receipt. Yesterday, March 5, they sent me a "Thanks for your payment" email for $60 that I never authorized. No one answers the phone at ************ or responds to voicemails. This is theft. Period.Initial Complaint

I had my debit card automatically charged 2/2/25 just before 10am by ConvenientMD. I did not authorize this charge. I did not receive a call or bill in the mail. I did not have money this week as I just paid rent. I want charges reversed. I do not consent not automatic charges. If I get a bill I will send out anything I owe. I am very upset I now don't have enough money for the next 2 weeks until I get paid. I never authorized that charge.Initial Complaint

I went in for an appointment due to a work related injury. The billing **** informed they had to open a workers comp case and did not give me a choice otherwise. I was told at the time of the appointment that they would not be charging me a copay at this time due to opening a workers comp claim. If the claim was approved, I would not have to pay out of pocket. If the claim was denied they would run the appointment through my insurance and bill me for my copay. My claim was denied, but they sent me a bill for the out of pocket cost for the appointment. When I called their billing department I was informed that their workers comp **** had not closed my case and this was the reason why they could not put the charges through my insurance. When I was put on hold the call routed to a general voicemail and told me to leave a message. I left a message and waited 3 days with no call back. I called their billing department again and was brought to a voicemail box stating to leave a message. I left another message. I sent two emails responding to the email statements they have sent with no reply. This week I called and left another message, and sent two more emails with no reply. They have still not adjusted my bill and have sent it to collections without response to any of my outreaches.Initial Complaint

I took my son to the Urgent Care at Convenient MD on August 4, 2024. Their website indicated a visit without insurance would be $150. Since I was on a temporary paid leave of absence from work, I wasn't sure if my normal insurance rates would apply, but I assumed that the visit would cost no more than that $150. However, the claim came back showing the total visit cost $325.30 and that I now owe $229.91 out of pocket, after the insurance "discount" of $95.39. Had I not provided my insurance information, I would have paid $150, but I'm being asked to pay an additional $79.91 for being insured. Convenient MD has nothing on their website that indicates insured claims will cost more than uninsured. Paying over 50% more than I would have without insurance to an IN-NETWORK PROVIDER is egregious. Convenient MD is taking advantage of insured individuals so they can charge your insurance more to make a profit. It is deceitful. It is wrong. It is borderline insurance fraud. Do not visit Convenient MD.Initial Complaint

March 27 2024 Convenient MD Newburyport Went in for sore throat after my son tested positive for strep. I handed over my insurance card and asked how much was it to be seen. They quoted me $25 and I was later billed an additional $35. In MA the new law is for billing transparency and by email Convenient MD stated they always quote the lowest amount even if incorrect. After some back and forth I did pay the extra but I feel it's unethical and essentially bait and switch by later sending extra bills to customers. I understand it's a small amount but I don't like to be quoted a price and then get an email months later telling me I owe more.Initial Complaint

Back in December of 2023 I visited the *********** office in ********** due to some cold like symptoms I was dealing with. The clinics staff was very help and did a great job. However, I began receiving an invoice for the full bill. I had file my insurance with this company along with the request to utilize the VA first as I am allow three visits through them Annually. To day, March 22nd, 2024 I reached back out to there billing office (the first time was via email on there online platform). The first phone call went well, the young lady took my correct private insurance information, as we had found the wrong insurance information had been logged. According to her, she was entering this information into there system when we got disconnected. I called back in an attempt to verify that they had logged the correct information and had the note to utilize the VA system first. The Second Lady I spoke with began very nice and helpful but advised me that she was unable to update my insurance information or file it at this time as the claim was last year. She did offer one viable solution which I was and am happy to attempt. However, when I question why the VA wasnt contacted and attempted and how did we end up with the wrong insurance to begin with, she stated that she had offered me a solution and that if I didnt need the help to which I asked for her not to over talk me and to help me understand how we ended up in this situation to begin withthe line was disconnected. Both phone calls were on a recorded line (per the **************************** I am not looking to get out of any debt I owe nor harm this company in anyway. I am simply looking for an appropriate resolution and the knowledge that no other consumer will receive this treatment. Thank you I. Advance for any help your able to offer.Initial Complaint

On March 11,2024 I received a text message about a surprise workers comp bill from March 2023. For the last year, ********** MD has insisted that I owe them $25. While I had 3 insurances at the time, I refused to pay it. One year later I pay the $25. Suddenly theres a workers comp bill for $154. According to ********** MD, they have tried to submit the claim several times and received no response. At the time of service I was under the care of workers comp and every claim was processed except this one? This is very suspicious to me and I refuse to pay the bill. Someone named ****** got on the phone and began threatening to send it to collections and I just today got the text message. I feel Im being scammed.Customer Answer

ConvenientMD acknowledged the company ******** who handles workers comp claims. Convenient MD acknowledged ******** hasnt responded to their request for payment yet. Also I had two other insurances at the time and this invoice was not submitted to either one. I received this notice about the invoice via a text message first. Upon calling, I was put through to an automated service asking me to choose a department. One of which was workers comp claim. I was never told what the invoice was for until I was able to do each to someone who would give me that info. I was told that if I didnt pay this invoice it would be submitted to collections when no other insurance company I had, was sourced for payment. The attached image was taken March 18, 2024 at 9:55am. This is, in my opinion, illegal.
