I signed a contract with Thibault's in December of 2022 to build a 20'x24' addition off the back of my existing barn. This was to include a concrete slab, framing, siding, electrical, roofing, doors, windows and all the other necessary finish work including paint, trim etc. We agreed on the quoted price of $44,000 for the project. After meeting with Gerard several times I paid the 50% required deposit with no set in stone start date but was told I was next in line once the current project he was working on was completed. Fast forward to end of March 2023 and after a lot of back and forth, an excavator was scheduled to come to do the site work to prep for the concrete pad. Gerard had requested that I make another payment ahead of the site work to keep the project "moving" so after some back and forth and some minor changes to the project I paid another $19,600 which made my total paid at this point $41,600. On April 1st, the site work contractor arrived and in a couple of days had the site ready to go for forming and concrete. After two weeks of limited response and Thibault's failure to give any estimated date on pouring of the concrete slab I went ahead and had another contractor come and do the concrete which I then had to pay for out of pocket. Fast forward to today. Thibault's has not been back to my house to complete any work for 30 days. The only thing they have accomplished is a 2x4 frame with roof rafters, roof sheathing and some ship lap siding. Keep in mind I have paid almost $42,000 at this point and it has been 5 full months since site work was completed. Since Thibault's could not commit to any date for roofing, I went ahead and hired someone else to come and install the roofing to avoid water damage and mold issues on my existing structure and the new construction. I have now spent roughly $50,000 and have not received any commitment from Thibault's on when they can finish the project and or refund me for all the work not performed.

Paid Gerard T******* deposits for renovations to our house including new siding, roofing and planned for a large dormer addition with master bath remodel. T******* took our initial deposit. He then approached for additional funds prior to starting the job. My husband unfortunately paid him. His workers removed siding and trim. His workers ruined trim installing it and had to redo it. We voiced concerns multiple times with Gerard about how the poor quality of work and what his workers were doing on the job. His employees damaged shrubs, a screen, deck and engaged in other disrespectful conduct on our property, including going into other buildings on property. Half the roof was done, but the temporary roof cap that was placed blew off on day 2 and we found the peak was wide open into our house. We told him this also with no action on his part. After over a month and a half with no siding and the trim still incomplete on the house we requested to terminate our contract with Gerard. It's been almost 7 weeks with no repayment of funds. He just tells us he doesn't have the money.

In Oct 2021 we signed 2 contracts with Thibault Renovation Services. The first was to do a complete remodel of our home. The second was to rebuild or replace an existing garage on the property depending on the Town of Hampton’s restrictions. At the time we signed the contracts, we we required to pay a 1/3 deposit on each contract. Because they were two separate contracts I am going to file 2 individual complaints. With regard to the home remodel contract, we met with Mr T******* several times before signing a contract outlining the specific products and details that we wanted. He assured us that he would take care of everything and we would be happy with the finished product. I can tell you that was not the case. He constantly ask for funds in advance, had every excuse in the book about delays to the timeline, blamed the subs and suppliers, and over time nothing was getting done. For example we specifically contracted for an aluminum metal roof. He installed a product of galvanized steel which is not warrantied in a coastal environment. In November 2022 the home was still uninhabitable with no heat, water, or electricity. The roof was still not complete and water was infiltrating into the home. At this point we had already paid him over $318,000 of the full contract of $334,500. In order to get the house finished we had to take additional money from our retirement and hire other contractors on our own to repair poorly completed work and finish the home. This was an additional $75,000 out of our pocket and caused a lot of anxiety for us. We are senior citizens and can’t afford to take money from our retirement or pay for expensive attorney fees to fight for what we paid for. Please help us get justice. We are very concerned that he continues to take advantage of other people. We are not the only ones. There are several cases against him in small claims court as well. We have sent letters, made calls, email and are getting nowhere. He is unresponsive.

In November of 2021 I signed a contract with Gerard T*******. It was a three phase project. I put approximately $22k down In deposit. He completed a third of the job (mudroom) in June 2022. I paid an addition 26k which was the second installment. He partially completed the kitchen refinishing but has not returned to my house since 11/2022. Even after multiple calls, emails, and texts. The contract states when he finishes the kitchen refinishing he will get the third installment to do a front portico with stairs. He has not pulled a permit for the work, he only did my counters and backsplash after the $26k check (still needs to have painter refinish cabinets, electrician hand pendent lights, and fix the grout that is peeling in the new tile), and I have been unable to arrange a meeting with him. He emails and talks in circles. I want this nightmare over. He owes me work or money. He refuses to provide receipts or labor costs as he said he doesn’t keep those records.
