Affinity federal credit union was a complete waste of my time. For over two weeks Ive been piece ******* them everything they have wanted in regards to a loan application. I am extremely well organized and have given them everything from 13 months worth of bank statements, cover letters, tax returns, my apartment lease showing how much Ive paid for in rent, and thats still not good enough. They kept asking to see proof that Ive paid my rent and wanted 12 months worth of canceled checks. Unfortunately I dont live in ****, and I dont know anybody who pays for rent with a check. I explained to her that this is all done electronically, and that she could see all of these payments done within the 13 months of bank statements. I couldnt have been more clear how she could find this. But nope, she didnt wanna do that.Then she told me she wasnt gonna take my calls until she received what was requested. I cant provide something that doesnt exist. So rude, so unhelpful, so unproBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because:firstly, this response again is both in accurate and did not address the initial reason for my complaint. Which was consistently asking me for some thing that both affinity federal credit union already had, and couldnt comprehend how some things are now done digitally online. Then they were rude and began not taking my calls and told me until I produced the document that doesnt exist, they wouldnt speak to me anymore.
Then to create a diversion, and ignore the extent of their incompetence, they tried to tell me that I had over 100% DTI, I am laughing my a** off. my DTI is at 51, at max.
******, Im not really sure if you know how to do math but my DTI is not over 100%. Thats an interesting letter, however it doesnt nearly address the reasons for my BBB complaint which is the rudeness and absolute incompetence of the people that work for you. Ill make sure to further write this in BBB. Im so glad that I didnt give you my business and create a relationship. Clearly from all of the other negative reviews you are a terrible institution.

Affinity federal credit union holds the lien on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. In January 2021 they added a $2100 excess insurance coverage fee to my loan. They did this because i live in MI where all insurance policies that did not have certain PPI coverage were canceled and reinstated in Dec 2020. I have provided proof of insurance multiple times and the excess charge has not been removed. I will not pay for this excess coverage because it is not a valid charge. Late payments are being reported to all 3 major credit monitoring companies and late payment fees have been added to my account. This has negatively impacted my credit score.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I request that my account be updated to reflect the $475 that is currently past due. I just logged into my online account and it shows that the total amount due on 9/16 is over $800. Please note that the lapse in insurance mentioned in Affinitys response was approved by Affinity. I can provide email verification upon request. The refund Affinity mentioned in 2020 was the removal of this same excess insurance charge from the total amount due on this loan. I provided email evidence from Affinity to Affinity that the charge was not valid and they refunded $1750 of $2100 when they should have refunded the full $2100. This is the 2nd time Ive had this same problem. This is why i filed this complaint. I would like to know when i can expect to see the late payments fall off my credit report. Please advise ASAP
