I've tried several times to call. They either don't answer their phone or you get a message to call back during business hours (I get this message even when I call during their business hours between 0830-1730 hours). Today, Dec 26, same thing ... don't answer their phone or get a message. They have no website to make updates (i.e. credit card). The time I've invested in trying to update my credit card via phone is useless if they never answer their phone or if all you get is a recording. I sent many emails complaining about them not answering their phone NO REPLY. If trying to talk to a human being via phone to update your credit card is this hard, I can't imagine the hassle you get if you had to file for a claim. If I'm not successful in updating my card (it isn't from a lack of trying) they will cancel *********. I begged via email for them to please answer their phone....they don't seem to care.Pavonia Life Insurance Company of Michigan Response

After being a long over 10 years customer and suddenly I missed payments due to my husband lost his debit card and forget to update bank info. I was in long travel on business overseas . No one checked mails when you sent alert about payments . When I returned. I called to update info but was late , you sent me package with all form that needs to reinstate policy , I filled out all forms, included money order , send it - and .pass more than month - silence no approval , no coverage , no money order . I called - representative said - it is under review ! What kind company is that / so long review and no reply . I am traveling a lot and need life insurance to protect my children . Well, after 10 years being with with, I am done and switching to another company . Also. Its so uncomfortable and inconvenient that you dont have online portal that customer can manage payment option, update bank details etc see policy . Since March 2013 Pavonia has provided customer service exclusively through our customer service phone agents. Our customer service phone agents can be reached at ************** Monday through Friday 8:30 am 5:00 pm Eastern Time. While Pavonia regrets whenever a customers premium is not received, each customer is provided multiple notifications to ensure they are made aware that payment was not received and must be made to avoid the policy lapsing. Once lapsed, a policy may only be reinstated by submitting a reinstatement application and the reinstatement only becomes effective once the application has been approved.Review from Marie D

I have been paying on my policy for many, many years in the hope that when I pass my children will have something. I did research and found out about the rehabilitation. I have asked for a copy of my policy to be sent to me multiple times. They won't email or fax it, and I have yet to see it. When I read about the rehabilitation, it sounded like Michigan just let the company sell itself to the same owner who is now in ************** and out of their jurisdiction.Pavonia Life Insurance Company of Michigan Response

We regret that the customer has not received a copy of their policy as requested. In response to this review, Pavonia has sent the reviewer a copy of their policies.Pavonia entered rehabilitation on July 9, 2019. As part of the rehabilitation order, the Michigan Department of Insurance and ********* Services was appointed as the Rehabilitator and took control of the day-to-day operations of the company. The owner of Pavonia does not have any control over the operations of the company. The Michigan Department of Insurance and ********* Services continues to oversee the operation of Pavonia.Review from Samantha D

I sent my claim forms in weeks ago and every time I call for a status update I'm told they don't have my forms. I know they have my forms because they were sent via certified mail. No one in the "claims department" can tell me anything about the status of my claim. I finally got one person on the phone who said they have my forms and to call back in two days for a status update. When I called back two days later they are now saying they don't have my forms again. Total scam!Pavonia Life Insurance Company of Michigan Response

Pavonia is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service at all times. ********************** requires all beneficiaries of claims to provide completed claim forms. The reviewers claim forms were received and prepared. Meanwhile the forms for the second beneficiary were received and misfiled resulting in the second beneficiary being advised that their forms were not received. The reviewers claim has now been processed. Pavonia apologizes for the confusion this has caused for the reviewer.Review from Michael M

Ever since the remit to address changed to ******, ** my payments take 2 to 3 weeks to clear my bank account. It never took more than a week in the past. Now I have two checks in their black hole of a processing center. I sent a payment for one month on 6/23/21 and it still hasn't cleared my account. I sent another check on 7/26/21 for two months payments and as of today (8/19/21) it hasn't cleared my account.I tried to find a customer service phone number to call but there doesn't seem to be one. When I try to go to their web page I get an error message that it "has timed out" whatever that means. Pavonia has determined that the reviewers premium payments were not processed timely. The premium payments have now been processed and applied to their policy.
