-Date: 6/17-18/2022 -Total Charge: $220 ($60 charge for the campsite, $80 for unclear, unexplained reason with no receipt, additional $80 duplicate charge on a different card)-The business committed to provide us access (via both car and foot) to a campsite with a firepit.-Would not accept our reservation information, receipt, reservation name, or any of our other documentation as proof that we had rented this site. Would not allow us access to campsite unless we provided the gate guards with our credit card information for them to charge $80 at the door. The guards never gave their names, identifying information, or clarified what the charge was for. We paid because it was 1 am and we had no other choice. Despite now having paid $140, more than twice the cost of one campsite, we were forced to park outside and carry all of our camping equipment to the other end of the campground on foot, where we discovered there was not even the firepit we had been promised. In the morning, we discovered that there were actually two separate $80 charges on each of the two cards used for this campground. We attempted to speak to someone at the main office, but it was closed, no one was around (even at the front gate, which was now wide open and unmanned), and no hours were posted. We called an after hours number listed to get in touch with someone, but our calls have been ignored. We have posted reviews of this site hoping for a response, and these reviews have been hidden.- The business has made no attempt to resolve any of the several issues involved, and seems to have actively ignored and suppressed our complaints.-Confirmation Number: R00000007193, Invoice Number I00000050873

As to the dispute: Total Charges: $209.00. Breakdown= $62.00 per night x 2 nights =$124.00. Extra Adult Charge= 2 extra adults x $20.00 per night, per adult =$80.00. Online reservation fee = $5.00. Total $209.00 Summary: The customer who issued this complaint, and an additional adult, showed up at our campground, well after hours, at approximately 2 AM, demanding to be given a campsite despite there being no reservation under their name. Our policy requires all visitors to check-in during normal business hours. While we should have simply denied entry to these individuals since they were not on a reservation, our security team assisted them when we learned they had a friend with a reservation who was allowing them to share his campsite. However, to add extra adults to a reservation, there is a charge of $20 per night, per adult which was explained to these individuals. After causing significant commotion in the middle of the night at our campground during quiet hours, the individuals agreed to pay the additional adult fees in order to access the campground. It is inappropriate for any guest to show up at a campground, after hours, without a reservation in their name, and demand we allow them into a campsite. Despite this, our team was gracious enough to work through the situation with the individuals so they would have somewhere to stay. All charges made were agreed upon by the individuals who provided their credit card information for the additional adult charges.

I am rejecting this response because:

Good to finally hear from you after refusing to return our calls and blowing off two deadlines from the BBB!

The reservation was for two adults. Two adults showed up. One of the initial reservers showed up on time to check in. The other member of the initial party showed up later with the name of the reservation and copies of the confirmation with one other adult. Again, the reservation was for two, so I don't understand why there is any extra adult fee whatsoever, but whatever, even so, charging a member of the original two reservers as an extra adult still makes no sense.

Additionally, I see no mention of the fact that both cards involved in the booking were charged an additional $80, not just the one on the primary account.

Finally, you claim all of this information was well explained on the night in question. I can tell you, as a person present, it was not explained at all what we were paying for, there isn't even a question of how well, because there was no explanation. Your guards were rude and aggressive, and when we were (I feel rightfully) annoyed that we would have to haul an entire campsite on foot across your campground, we were told "The price just went up," by your guard. That to me indicates that he was absolutely not trying to follow policy, he was trying to **** up what he could charge us at the gate and figure out what policies he could use to justifiy it after the fact. If you have any indication that we were presented with a reciept or an invoice or an explanation of what we were charged for, please share it, because again, your man demanded our debit card and then entered the information onto his phone, end of story.

So in summary, my question remains, how did one "extra" adult for one night constitute two seperate charges for two extra adults for two nights?

      Regards,
