I read a few negative reviews about this company but that was not my experience at all. I was moving my family heirlooms from the east coast to the west coast so I was very nervous.Everyone I came into contact with during the entire process was polite and communicated promptly. The customer service people always answered promptly and kept me informed as to the status of my move. The driver and the moving crew kept in contact me the entire day of arrival which made for a very efficient delivery. All of my items, which consisted of a lot of fragile items like antique china and pictures in glass frames arrived without any breakage. I would recommend this company and use them again

While their service is rather friendly compared to their broker partner, Coastal Moving Services, LLC ( DOT # *******), I will still advise AGAINST using New Destiny Moving Services LLC DBA Cross Country Long Distance Movers (DOT 3051646).Once their partner Costal Moving secures the contract, they handed the order to Destiny Moving Services LLC DBA Cross Country Long Distance Movers. The second company is suppose to contact you to confirm pick up date and time. They didnt do that. I spent hours on the phone with Costal Moving trying to confirm if movers were actually showing up (this is 2-3 days before moving day). The day of, I get a call from a nice man who confirms a pick up. They show up, theyre kind, and they load the truck rather quickly. They inform us of an additional fee for steps (2nd floor) and my large mirror (both discussed during initial contract). I reluctantly pay. They promised me delivery to my new state within 1-2 days. I even have it in writing. 2 days go by. I call on Monday morning only to be told its 3-11 days. The lady I spoke with was very nice and said she will call dispatch and see what she can do. Later that evening someone called and confirm the truck will arrive by Wednesday. They arrive, unload the boxes and leave (all I needed). Hours later I find out the mirror is completely shattered!I contact customer service with my list of complaints that span between the two companies and request a partial refund for $400 overcharge in quote, $150 step fees, and my broken mirror. She informs me they dont do refunds. After much pushback, she said she will put in a request but it probably wont happen. Its been almost 2 weeks, several calls, and no resolution. Also, their partner Costal Moving Services called me and insisted I was lying and its all my fault. Overall, these companies are designed to take advantage of people in need. They take zero accountability and have a moral compass.

On our contract as well the stairs fees are explained and the contract also states if there is any additional cubic footage taken up you have the option to pay for it or take the space you were quoted for. Our drivers always give us heads up for when the customers want fast delivery or storage or arent sure but they cant assure you any dates. I set up the move more than two weeks in advance. They were supposed to come on friday 10/4. I had to call spoke with ***** on dispatch. They were telling me they were running behind, no worries we can do it tomorrow saturday 10/5. They showed up after and proceeded to tell me they dont have enough room for my stuffvthat i inventored with company three times. They wanted an additional $990 to take my stuff. I tried to call ***** from dispatch she wouldn't answer. Driver called her she answered then they proceeded to explain that i didnt contract with them i went through a broker so i get whatever they say. The worst service ever. No one should have to experience this. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against them for misrepresentation. When i refused to give them more money they got in their truck and left.

I'm sorry to hear that we  did not meet your expectations. We strive to ensure every customer is happy , and it's clear we have not lived up to this promise in your case. As we did not service this move we are confused why we got a BBB complaint by law we have to let you know how much space in our truck you are taking so then from there you have the option to move with us or find a better or more affordable way to move. We explained you have way more items on site than you did in the inventory and soem items needed to be packed. We tried giving you a discount and you didnt want to accept it we tried the best we can but we cant move more than what your wuote is for and you refused to move with us which is totally okay but we did try to work it out as best as we can and we hope your move goes well and wish you the best in your new home!

I have had a horrible experience with this company, no wonder they have no good rating. unfair practices, lying, damaging items and no response as to when shipments are in transit. DO NOT USE THEM AT ANY COST, they will rip you off and then make it impossible to file a moving damage claim. They are the worst company on the planet.. I agree with the other review...they don't even deserve one star, they should be ashamed and out of business...

They don't deserve even one star.CROSS COUNTRY LONG DISTANCE MOVERS IS THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER WORKED WITH.LYING, CHEATING, UNRELIABLE. I WON'T BE TALKING TO THEM EVER AGAIN.I hired them to pick up my stuff on Aug. 19, they made *********** had to convince them to come on the 20th. They came late & with plenty of excuses. We made an agreement before giving them the money, that I can call the company to track the truck until they drop the boxes, they gave more excuses how they can't track the truck. I convinced them "You have my truck, I have a Right to know where my stuff is." After a 20 minute wait on the ohone, they finally gave in & told me. My stuff was supposed to be delivered on Aug. 24, they dropped my stuff on Sept. 7th. After a torturous TWELVE DAYS of lack of sleep, wanting to throw up, being depressed about where my stuff was, they dropped my stuff & told me, "Pay us first or we won't deliver it."Having worked & cooperatied with many ************************* in my life, this was the worst company ever. DO NOT HIRE THESE CLOWNS AT ALL!

My experience with New Destiny/Cross Country Movers NJ (confused on who's who) has been the "COMBINATION OF ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS WRITTEN". Contact with this/these Movers began on 7/18/24 after scheduling my move from ** to ** with Captain vl on 7/15/24. First of all, I was not aware that there would be a Company (not Capt *** moving my belongings. I received an written estimate from Captain ** based on the detailed dimensions I gave them, then when the Movers came they said the dimensions of two boxes where much larger and didn't match what was on the Estimate and I will have to pay them $300 more or my things will not be moved. At this time it was close to midnight, I was stressed over the situation so I paid $150 and my things where loaded. There has been several emails and phone calls to the Movers to deliver my things (some with no responses). The Movers made an attempt to deliver my things on 7/31/24. They said my things where on the truck but refused to let me see them until I paid the balance. I refused to pay without seeing my things first, they drove off with my stuff and I have no idea where my things are today. It's been over a Month and I don't have my things yet. I want help. What can I do?

I moved by myself for the first time ever (and across the country at that) and a broker recommended this company to me. Honestly, I thought a different company would be moving my belongings, but had I seen who this carrier was and read the reviews beforehand, I would've NEVER agreed to have them service me. I have never been so traumatized by an experience and I am not exaggerating!Firstly, they were a day late in picking up my things on schedule. They did call and accommodated to come the next day which is a day they don't normally work on; however, the man in charge for picking up my belongings charged me for more storage in the truck even when the broker ensured me that the inventory I planned to have move would fit just fine with room to spare (it was an average room-sized full of stuff -- I didn't have much belongings, there weren't even any large furniture to consider). Of course, I agreed to pay for more storage because I needed my stuff to start moving as I was scheduled to leave the state the next day and so they took advantage of that urgency.21 days have passed and I have yet to get a phone call nor has my stuff arrived, so I took it upon myself to call the number provided. The amount of stress I had to endure just to even get someone to pick up the phone and answer is beyond what I'm capable of handling. Staff was incompetent because they couldn't get me an ETA and promised to call back, but never did. It took me cussing them out and threatening to take legal action to finally get one and the movers came a week and a half later. The first thing the movers did was drop and break half of my ceramics beyond repair. After a couple of days of unpacking, I've come to find out they also lost or misplaced a $500 gaming console plus an additional $500 worth of gaming accessories. I truly believe they stole it, because a piece of tape that I have used to seal the box was broken, but the towel I wrapped it up in was still in the box. NEVER AGAIN!
