I hired this company to install solar panels on my house while they told me they had a promotion of no payments the first year. Well turns out that ment after they turned on my service they would send me a check for one years worth of service. They installed my panels February of 2023 the "PARENT" company sunnova held the loan and started charging me in April for the payments, even though service was not turned on they said that's not their problem they just collect on the loan. Fast forward to October they finally turn my panels on and I ask them towards the end about my promotional check they said there is a back log it will take 2-3 months to get it. In January I try to contact them my service rep will not answer me they will not return my messages and when I call the number I was given from sunnova it tells me my account is not active and hangs up. So I go to the website and see that Sunnova has cut ties with them and all contact with anyone who has contracts through them.Initial Complaint

I was promised a sign on bonus check made out to me for $2500.00, to pay for the first 18 months of solar. I signed a contract and was told I would receive my sign on bonus once solar was up and running. My solar set up has been up and running since September or august, and I have not received a sign on bonus, money is being debited out of my account, and no one answers at Suntuity. the rep who sold me the service doesn't respond either ****** ******* **********Initial Complaint

I was initially contacted by a Suntuity representative in January of 2023. Suntuity's promotion at the time was to pay the 1st year of the solar panel costs. After the hearing the presentation I agreed to go solar. My panels went live in April 2023. I was contacted by Sunnova months later saying I had a past due balance. I told them that Suntuity had agreed to pay my panel costs for the 1st year. ******* said it was my responsibility to acquire the funds from Suntuity. I contacted Suntuity. They verified that I was to receive the promotion and then proceeded to email me a tax form to complete. I was told that Suntuity had a backlog so it would take approximately 6 weeks for me to receive my check. I have yet to receive ANYTHING from Suntuity. I can't even get someone on the phone. All numbers I call are busy. The one that isn't says I do not have a valid account and automatically hangs up.Initial Complaint

Was sold solar by Vivint Solar. Which uses Suntuity, in April of 2023. Install finally happened in early Nov 2023.Its now Feb 26, 2024 and Ive had panels on my house that have not been completed, failed inspections 3 times with the county, and the leasing company is trying to collect payment, for an incomplete system.Suntuity is apparently out of business. And Im stuck with panels that dont work and a $60,000 bill.****** loves to say I understand your frustration. Clearly you doEither way, Im stuck holding the bag. So far.Initial Complaint

We decided to pursue Solar in 2023 and had the PERMISSION TO OPERATE(PTO) in September of 2023. We were hesitant to go with the Solar but our salesperson, ***** advised us that SUNTUITY would give us a monthly credit of $152.00 for one year which totaled roughly $1824.00. To date we HAVE NOT RECEIVED this amount from Suntuity and had been promised this. When I called they kept telling me I was on the list to receive this payment since I had PTO in September of 2023. It is now February 2024 and I still have not yet received the check promised. When you call the number you cannot reach anyone and the phone will hang up when you call. In addition, when you try another number it says to leave a message. We are very disappointed we have been lied to. We have not yet received the check we were promised for signing up with this company. I am going to attempt to take action if possible. They are thieves and liars. Do not use this company. I have contacted customer service several times about getting a 12-month incentive for agreeing to go using Suntuity to go solar. The sales person was fantastic to work with and helped push the project to completion. Since the solar panels have been turned on in July and the "project is complete" the sales representative has no left the picture and does not return communication. The initial contact with customer service required a W-9 to be filed, this was complete on September 6th. I was then instructed that we "were on the payout list" with the expected date of early November for the mailing of the check. I elevated my complaint at the end of November to a customer service manager, but they "were busy with other customers". At that time, the rep said that they will reach out to finance to try and expedite my check and they would follow up within 48 hours with an update. That time elapsed as well as my patience for two weeks without contact. Today, Dec 13, 2023, customer service tells me that they are still waiting on a response from the ******************* I would like to get a check sent out as promised as it is the holiday season and was expecting the extra cash throughout this period. I decided to wait until after the holidays and now their appear to be bankrupt.Initial Complaint

Back in June I decided to go solar, contacted Tara Aiello who told me she got approval to get me a 12 month refund check if I signed up equaling $3059.04, this was back in July 2023. I signed a contract, had my installation completed in November. She then told me a refund check would come 6-8 weeks. We are now going on 12 weeks, and no check, nothing but excuses blaming management. Until the other day, she said Sunnovo took over a bunch of contracts and she was trying to get in touch with her district manager. After dozens of calls to Sunnovo to get a live person on the phone, I find out that Suntuity is solely responsible for this as they are the ones that entered into this agreement. Not to mention my Con Ed bills did not go down to the amount she said they would.Initial Complaint

I signed a contract and was told I would receive my sign on bonus once solar was up and running. Well solar has been up and running, and I have not received a sign on bonus, money is being debited out of my account, and no one answers at Suntuity. Now as of last week I was told Suntuity went bankrup and now my account is with Sunnova. I contacted the sales rep I worked with from Suntuity, that’s when I was told “yeah, they went bankrupt, I think Sunnova took it over, sorry there’s nothing I can do.” I asked if Sunnova is going to honor the contract I signed since they too my account over and was told “probably not”, “I told you sorry there’s nothing I can do.” I contacted Sunnova spoke to someone I could barely understand, and was told that they don’t know what I want from them and was conveniently disconnected. My next step now is to hire an attorney maybe he can get some answers and some compensation for us. I can’t deal with these incompetent people and companies any more. This is very frustrating, disheartening, and disturbing. You put your trust into a company thinking they are trying to help people and make things better and this is what they do to honest hard working people. This is a disgrace. They should be ashamed of themselves. Pure trash.
