****************** ***** identified on his business card as a Master ********* came to my home on July 10,2023 to fix a leak in the downstairs bathroom. He quoted a price of $1,250 which included plumbing repair, sheet rock repair and paint, plus $150 for materials. He was at the house for about 3 hours before he called me to look at the patched ceiling and told me the leak was fixed. I paid him with a check for $1,400. Because of the patch I could not verify that the leak was fixed but that evening the leak was still coming down along with pieces of the patch. I called him and on July 13th he came back and told me that to fix the problem it would cost me more. I said no and he left. I tried to contact him with an email but he has not responded. This left me in a position worse than I began with: $1,400 out of pocket, the leak in the ceiling and an unnecessary hole in the ceiling he cut to find the leak source. The hole was not necessary as another contractor found the source immediately just above the leaking ceiling in a valve of the upstairs bathroom. In addition, there is no way ************** could not have known that the leak was still present when he put up the patch.Lastly, the address and telephone number provided on the business card for **************************** Construction are actually assigned to ************** himself. In view of the above, I am requesting a refund of $1,400.
